There's not a lot of Mormons here but I never met one I didn't like.

Everything in religion is open to interpretation; whatever ills and catastrophes befall the world, the flock will always dream up an excuse which lets their 'God' off the hook.

GOD is not like the president of some country. Such as the president of the USA vs one for Russia, etc.

People who have not mastered the Book of Mormon or the Pearl of Great Price simply have not been exposed. The non believer in most cases is totally ignorant there are those books.

Clearly you do not understand the church nor the teachings. It is clear to me you have us confused with probably the Methodists.

At my age of 80 one can be expected to accept I have attended church far more times than the non acceptors. I do not understand the things you claim we do. I had a similar chat one day with a Baptist and though he was a very nice man, since then died, we were not on the same page. I Guess now he knows more.

This is a true story. Mom was married to my LDS father when this happened. She did not relate it to the church.

Gene, her brother who was fighting during WW2 on the Islands and perhaps even in Germany had recently departed the SF Bay Area back to Japan when suddenly North Korea invaded South Korea. The NK Army moved down South Korea at a very fast speed. It looked at the time as if they conquered all of Korea. Gene was barely back to Japan when his unit was shipped to South Korea to help fight off the N. Koreans. Gene was around Taejon. Mom knew nothing at all about Korea. About what most of us today know about let's say Indonesia.

Mom was sleeping. Gene appeared to her and told her he just died in combat but not to worry. He was fine he told her. She woke up Dad to tell him. She never at any point later denied her dead brother came to talk to her.

I thought he was one-up on either of them; he's supposed to be omnipotent isn't he, which means he can exercise total control over all things good or bad. For example, why does he allow paedophiles to rape babies when he can so easily prevent them doing it?

Mormons are good people, in my experience.

And the ones outside of Utah and are not insane about political affiliation.

I realize, that is only introduced as they work their way up the ranks.....perhaps a higher level of heaven in your ideology? Jesus told me His yoke is light, he'll take on my burdens.

Perhaps God has called you to put a stop to it. To bug a burden? Ask Him for the strength and wisdom to do it. It has been laid upon your heart.

The LDS missionaries ask the potential convert from meeting one to read the Book of Mormon through.

So all you had to say is you know nothing at all about we LDS. Adding in Hubbard in my opinion simply shows a bad temperment.

I own and have read a copy of The Book of Mormon, as well as several of Hubbard's Scientology screeds. Same con, different century. Kolob or Xenu - pick your delusion...

THose two books add things and requirements the Apostles who walked with Jesus were never privy to. You never expounded on.....why baptize the dead?

I don't mind if I'm baptized after death. An appeal to the King can't hurt anything.

Thanks Jake. I have visited Utah many many times. I lived in SLC for one month just out of high school. Found the kids at the time very different than kids in my growing up area of CA.

Are you Delusion free? To date, nobody explains to me what the LDS con is or why? We are not one bit like Scientology.
