No, they aren't. They are still residents of their home state. They are temporary residents of the state they are attending college in.

    Florida Law:

A 7 year old study is hardly relevant.

Because there is not much to a college ID. There is no address, some might have a date of birth and honestly they can be copied or created very easily.

That is FLORIDA law. It varies state by state, but most states where you attend college full time 9 months out of the year you can obtain a driver's license as a resident.

Actually this 5 year study was VERY relevant and even more so because this was the BUSH Justice Department who were LOOKING for a certain outcome.

Then why is it that in nearly all other states who have implemented tougher voter ID laws, do they still accept a college ID?

Near as i can tell, Texas is the only state that got away with this one. It will be looked at again after the election ... count on it!

The student ID does not specify residence. A holder could go and vote in more than one district. But then Democrats are in favor of voter fraud.

College ID's can be manipulated as most any college student is fully aware of.
Plus if a Kid uses a college ID to vote and lives in another state as many
college kids do,he has the opportunity to, vote in the state he comes from, also.
Plus ... and this is important. All this Voter ID bunk. If voter ID is so bad than
ask yerself who supplies and processes Drivers license. The States.
Are they all racist as well.
Double plus ... Obama just went on Al Sharpton radio and made a huge confession.
That Voter ID is not the reason blacks have to worry at voting time.
Obama admits that Voter ID Laws Don't Stop Blacks
    From Voting !!

Student ID's can be manipulated same as DL's or CC permits..

AND unlike the latter two, they have to be updated ever 6 months when tuition is paid.

As for Obama's "admission" -- link please.

A gun is registered in one's home state, using your home address which is one's legal residency.
If a student goes to Ohio University, but lives in Texas with their parents.....why in the world should they be allowed to vote in an Ohio election????? They get an absentee ballot....and vote in their own home state. What's so difficult to understand about that?

Yes it will. The democrats are not going to be able to demonstrate that it discriminated in practice.

Not true. Others have it as well. It's because.....

Wisconsin: "A student's university ID is not an acceptable form of identification at the polls because it doesn't meet the law's requirement of a signature and expiration date."

    http://www.thenorthwestern.com/stor...tudents-educate-peers-voter-changes/16287989/

If you go to another state to college......you don't get in-state tuition prices because you are not a resident of that state. Even if you are married and your wife has a job there......IF you came there for the purpose of attending college, they will not even allow you to establish residency to get the lower in-state tuition. IF you are a student who came to that state for the purpose of attending that college, you are always considered out-of-state for tuition purposes. Most....if not all....states voting laws will state that one has to have established residency in the state....and be a legal U.S. citizen.....in order to vote in that state. Student I'D's are also not permanent and don't have nearly the info to be used to vote. ANY student can get their absentee ballot and vote in their own state's voting. It's really not difficult. If they are college students.....surely they can figure that one out. :)

You never heard of a State ID? The "they dont drive!!!" excuse is a poor talking point and nothing else.

Which would seem to be why Dems want Student ID's to count....
