yes, I know, it was hard to tell if that meant she had dealt with him before or not, I just watched video and still not sure, if they have security tapes of dealing with him in past woudl help bolster their case

she also wasn't white, but that doesn't mean anything, people can be racist to other races or their own too

I would like her to go on tv and explain why she treated this man differently, if she doesn't people will have to assume the worst as they will only have the video to go on, which doesn't look good

I will say this, if I owned stock in Starbucks, I would be selling, this is a lot of bad PR over bathroom issues

depends why this guy was denied, all that does is show it also happens to white people too, should upset you as much as happening to a black guy, does it matter the race?

to be fair as it is a crime to public urinate, I think all people asking to use a bathroom should be allowed, seems cruel to deny such access, it's happened to me when I did not have any money and had to drive to next gas station, not fun

Why should a private business have to allow anyone to use their facilities that doesn't purchase anything? That's like saying the company owes you a drink just as much as they own you the use of their toilet. The store doesn't get to write off or not pay for the water and waste and toilet paper and lights being used if you don't pay for anything in the store.

OK let's suppose for the sake of argument that this Starbucks had had a problem with people just coming in and using their restrooms requiring addtional cleaning and disrupting the use by paying customers. Especially homeless people who were not well kept and if fact quite dirty and perhaps disruptive. So the management says no more people using the facilities unless they have made a purchase, end of story. They know if they let anyone but then deny someone else that that is a lawsuit over discrimination waiting to happen. So a pregnant lady comes in and ask and the person working there says sorry they are for paying customers only.

How do you make a policy that can prevent over use by non-paying customers and a constant stream of non-paying customers especially ones who are not well kept and not very "hygenic" yet allow for this situation where the employee knows he could get fired for allowing a non-paying customer use the facilities.

 

Many years ago I was training for a marathon. While in downtown I realized I had to take a **** so I stopped at the Four Seasons. Not only did the doorman hold the door open for me, they gave me a bottle of water. A few minutes later as I was leaving I saw them preventing a homeless black guy from entering. Glorious.
