How many participants in that riot have been charged with conducting an insurrection? I’ll tell you how many. Zero. Why? Because there was no insurrection.

When the goal of the mob was to overturn the current CIC's humiliating election drubbing? The guy who controlled the ENTIRE US military, including the Coast Guard and National Guard, the DOJ, FBI, and every federal agency in existence, with Patriot Act and COG/National emergency authority who didn't want to leave? Yeah, your version is so much more logical... :roflol:

So you know every member of the military, the DOJ, the FBI, etc/ Really? Wow. I just know a lot of folks in the military, not DOJ or FBI. Military folks are ANGRY at the current regime. But my whole life has been military and I understand the anger.

One must take anything from someone that says "Trunt" with a grain of salt. If one cannot speak English correctly in America... there's lots of doubt about what the content of their flawed language is.

I was referring to 1/6 and Don the Con's failed regime. Am I going too fast?

"Don the Con"???? May I ask how old you are? I really have no desire to converse with a child.

It is typed with the exact same affection and reverence others type "Brandon." May we safety assume you have identical sentiments for them as well? [IMG]

I never say any of the Brandon silliness. When I wish to describe Biden... I say Biden. Misspelled names just prove the writer's illiteracy.

And it has nothing to do with building a good case and avoiding over charging?
Of course not, we all just saw it on National TV

Who're we going to believe?. The greatest liar who was ever President, or our own eyes?

    "Greatest liar"?? Let's review...

Trump lowered my taxes (I was able to buy a jacuzzi!)
Biden left Americans and allies abandoned in Afghanistan
Trump actually got SIGNED peace accords in the Middle East.
Biden makes COVID restriction mandatory for Americans but not for illegal immigrants.
Trump gave the military its first real pay raise in years.
Biden seeks to restrict the second Amendment.
Trump clobbered ISIS (captured their largest city – Mosul and their capital city - Raqqa.
    Biden armed the terrorist Taliban.
Trump allowed terminal patients to use drugs not fully tested that might offer hope.

Biden has allowed the opioid disaster to grow and grow by opening the borders.
Biden killed pipeline jobs and US energy independence.
Trump got us back in space on US-made rockets.
Biden got 13 US Soldiers killed at the Kabul airport.
    Trump made us energy-independent.
Biden opened our border... WIDE OPEN
    Trump supported the 2d amendment
Biden indoctrinates our kids with racist "Critical Race theory"

Biden has done nothing to support the police as our cities experience tremendous growth in murder and violence.

    Biden is causing outrageous inflation.

There was no “supply chain” disaster under Trump as there is under Biden.

Gas was about a buck and a half cheaper under Trump.

People weren’t being banned from social media for speaking their minds under Trump.

Parents counted under Trump. Under Biden (and you, by the way)… they don’t.

    gees... the list is endless

Fine. Then arrest her for shop lifting and get on with it. Don't accuse her of insurrection.

    Oh good Lord

a subpoena for the "Jan 6" event and he did not respond so he's indicted for contempt of Congress

Russia probe was a joke and a Democrat travesty thrust upon the nation. Now they think Jan 6 will have legs with voters? Democrats have full control and have run the train off of the tracks. The folks are hurting as inflation skyrockets. Jan 6 is long out of the rear view mirrors of anyone but hardcore Democrat voters

Democrat votes have consequences and wasting our tax dollars is just one of those consequences

Trump and Bannon are now civilians. A Congressional Subpoena has no power at all over private citizens. Its all just hoopla.

Let the Dems continue to slice their own throats. As open borders, inflation, limitless spending, increasing taxes, citizens abandoned to terrorists and all the rest leave America angry and confused... all the Dems care about is GoreBull Warming... let them continue to drive their polls into the ground.

But they didn't storm the seat of US Democracy and in the process attempt to reverse the result of an election result they disproved of. Lets be quite clear here. I'm not condoning the damage done by BLM etc protesters, not at all, no matter how egregious the crimes they imagine they were were protesting about their actions were unlawful.

But here's the thing, the same rules also have to apply to everyone. No matter the circumstances. For all the damage potentially done by those protestors in the cities concerned it would not have changed the course of the Republic. The United States of America is greater than a few burned out suburbs in small number of cities across its length and breadth. It's greater than every foreign power that has ever challenged it in it's entire history. But it is not greater than its own internal democratic processes.

The BLM /ANTIFA protestors are in the greater measure a one more protest in a continuum. Those involved in storming the Capital Building, albeit they were far fewer in numbers (in proportion) to those other rioters were in a position to do far, far more damage to American democracy than all those others combined.

I do not condone the protest at the Capitol. It was ok until went inside, at which time they were trespassing and should be prosecuted for that. But a few totally disorganized loudmouth nuts (remember the guy in the headdress?) represented no more threat to the Republic than a crying baby in a Catholic church represents a threat to the authority of Rome.

To claim that a few loudmouths threaten the "processes" of the United States government tells me you think the US Government has all the stability of bankrupt 7-11. Although I bet all of them thought the election was rigged, I'm sure none of them thought they could have "changed the course of the Republic" or changed the results of the election... well... none that weren't certifiably nuts and, as such, as harmless as a cocker spaniel puppy.

Possibly. But my point albeit poorly expressed was that, on this forum at least the various BLM etc protests around the US are often represented as a clear a present danger to US democracy. But at the same time those same posters also tend to claim that the Capitol building riot was not! To my mind they represent an equal danger. I take your point about the real world ramifications of the DC riot. But if so then the various 'left wing' riots that are continually referred to by conservation posters on this forum also have to be taken in the same context i.e. their real world ramifications/results.

PS Sighing off now (different time zone). Happy to discuss later (here or off line). Good POV BTW.

Says the man who is on record calling for forced vaccinations by incarceration a fine of $1,000 and your children being removed from you.

May you never even see a city hall off in the distance on the horizon

Analogies aren't real. The shoplifting is the insurrection

Cocker spaniel puppies are proverbial ax murderers and push random people in front of approaching subway trains? Most people with mental illness are generally harmless, and they deserve our sympathy and help but you don't really feel reassured to notice hat that they guy approaching you late at night is fighting off a flock of invisible seagulls, do you?

That guy fighting off the invisible seagulls was probably my great uncle who came home whacked out after fighting in France during the Great War.
