Some would say a pacifist is a synonym for coward.

In this context, for sure.

The store owner, fortunately, had the mentality that the "buck stops here.". If more citizens thought this way, they wouldn't be out robbing in the first place.

Only the truly ignorant.
Look, I don't want to sound like I'm defending the robber. If you want to say he threw the first punch, fine, but that proves my point. He ran out of ideas. Probably never had a good idea in his life but all you guys are speaking up for vigilante justice. Nothing more. Somebody robs me, I'll kill 'em. Somebody steps on my property, I'll kill 'em. Somebody look out of place in my neighborhood, I'll kill 'em. This crap didn't work for Bernie Goetz and it shouldn't work for anybody else. "Stand your ground" is as bad as "Corporations are people". Stand your ground has done nothing but justify murder.

We definitely have different definitions of murder. Killing someone defending lives, land, and personal property is not murder. That is protecting what is yours. Nothing vigilante about it. The burglar made a choice, and may suffer very hard consequences. There is a very easy way for him not to get shot... don't commit crime.

For the record that's not the context I was using it in. I was simply expressing what I thought to be the disconnect between our points of view.

The difference between the our views is I won't restrict you from choosing NOT to plug a guy that robs you. Go nuts. Extend to me the same courtesy.

Someone robs me was said. Steps on my property: not said. Out of place: not said. Stand your ground has exactly zero to do with this actually. <<< These are strawmen arguments. A veritable army of them.

You also don't appear to understand the definition of murder.

You and your liberal campmates who think thugs should face no acts of violence in reprisal for the acts of violence they commit do nothing but empower the thugs.

Those who rob and violate other people can cause a lifetime of mental anguish for their victims. Would you stand by and let a thug that is twice your size and strength take every item in your house? Do you think you would have been tough enough to take down the massive criminal in the OP's story? I bet not.

How about other crimes? If a large thug like the guy shot in the back were to break in and start raping a young female in your family---would you kill him if you had a gun after he refused to stop his rape? I think the most likely scenario would you be running from your own life, then calling the police once you were safe.

Liberals cry about "gun violence" all the time.

Take a long look at the face of the guy that robbed that store. It is people like him that make up 80-90% of the people in this country committing gun violence for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th time.

Every time you defend one of these pieces of human filth, you're contributing to the gun violence problem in this country.

For every one of them put down, lives are saved and violence is prevented.

If you want gun violence to go down, this is your poster boy of where to start.

Somebody robs you with a gun he is very likely to rob and kill or wound somebody else. The sooner that cycle stops the better.

Wait, you want me to extend the courtesy for you to choose to plug anybody or anybody that robs you? It's a little confusing because I've already said i didn't have a problem with the store owner shooting the guy-just in the back when he's leaving.
There were no straw man arguments.....I wasn't arguing anything just making the point that you and people like you want to use any excuse to "defend" yourself.
It is you that doesn't understand the definition of murder. You probably think Zimmerman was justified. When some decides to pull a trigger for defense they make a choice that doesn't necessarily put them on the right side of the law.

Gee tell me what else I think I great karnack. I know what I mean when I say things. If you don't like it: no one cares.

Yes just anyone. That's totally what I was talking about. Mmmhmmm. << yet another strawman.

No strawman arguments.... you were just putting things out there that hadn't been said and assigning them to the opposing side.... yup totes not a strawman bra. Totes mcgoats.

Murder: an unjustified homicide.

He chased the kid and then shot him while the kid was running away after beating his ass. He wasn't absconding with property or likely to return for more. Legally: justified. Morally: not so much.

And what has that to do with the price of butter?

The Country Prosecutor in Hamilton County Ohio is Joe Deters. The chance of Joe Deters even considering a charge against this store owner is less than 5%. while Cincinnati is run by Democrats-many of whom are anti gun, the County is far more conservative and Joe Deters is probably going to rule this justifiable without much ado

Could have been worse …
A cop on the scene might have ordered the robber to extinguish his cigarette …

I find liberal views on crime ridiculous, and dangerous.

BTW, Jesus was a strong supporter of capital punishment. Not only sending legions of evil-possessed over a cliff to their deaths, but allowing two thieves to be executed along with himself.

You can't debate you because you take items out of context to fit your own narrative and claim victory. That's your bold move.
