    Yes - they can be.

However, mass media America likes to perpetuate them.

And masses of Americans like them too, as they are easier to understand, and do not require serious thought.

So you are saying the majority of civilian deaths in both countries during are a result of people blowing themselves up and not the war/invasion/occupations? Really?

There are lots of different reason why the crusades happened, is there not? That is just one of them. If it was because Muslims slaughtered Christians (motive?) then it makes no sense why the Crusaders also slaughtered the Jews living in Jerusalem. Hmmm.... Then, when Salah ad-Din recaptures Jerusalem he doesn't hurt a single Christian and lets them go peacefully. Hmmm....

Really? Muhammad (PBUH) slaughtered people to spread Islam? Maybe it is you who check up on your history. The Muslims were given no choice but to fight the Pagans fighting and persecuting them. The verses in the Quran support this. If Muhammad (PBUH) and the Muslims didn't fight, who knows what would of happened to Islam? Only الله. But Muhammad (PBUH) treated the Pagans good in Mecca, despite all the trouble the Quraish were causing for Muslims. Must of been a role-model for Salah ad-Din :)

They've slowed down in the killing of the name of God, yes, but they don't hesitate to kill for countless other reasons. Is there a difference? Despite what al-Qaida says, God does not advocate killing innocent people for no reason at all. When they blow themselves up, whether in mosques, churches, market places, they aren't going to Heaven and they aren't getting any virgins. And incase you havent noticed people are converting to Islam on their own free will. Yes the fundementalists do occasionally force some people but this isn't in the teachings of Islam. The Quran says there is no compulsion in religion. The Quran says Muslims, Jews, and Christians who believe in God and do good deeds will enter heaven.

No, they don't do it in the name of God. They do it in the name of the Dollar. But regardless of the motive, they are killing people. What is more important, the deaths or the motives behind the deaths? Is somebody killed by a Christian less dead than by a Muslim? No.

Sorry habibi, but not this time.

I hope this post makes people think.

Since this is a public forum, I will answer 'of course'.

I have never understood why it is anyone's business what someone's sexuality is, let alone to make a negative judgement on them for it.

However, all the Abrahamic faiths were written and created by men, living in a culture, and at a time when homosexuals were not understood, let alone tolerated.

This hate can be evidenced in the writings.

Religion does a lot of hating, from what I have read.

Didn't Jesus even preach that one must hate their own family and parents?

I do not recognize these "Jihadi's" as Jihadi's.

Jihad is struggle. To take part in Jihad is to respond to aggression and persecution. This is the Islamic meaning of Jihad. Most scholars would agree with this.

Now, where is the struggle in what al-Qaida and Taliban do? Suicide is against Islam. Killing innocent people, whether they are Muslim or not, is Haram. Causing problems in the land is Haram. These are all Haram actions.

Yet these people are linked to Islam. How? When the only link to Islam is their actions are Haram? Haram means forbidden, taboo, not allowed in Islam.

hey its not our fault psycho muslims decided to be cowards in the face of a supreme rival and instead of fighting like men they decided to blow up innocent women and children while screaming how great their god is lol.

that would be as dumb as me if a burglar broke into my house, and instead of me shooting the tresspassers i go to my neighbors house and shoot him instead lol.

no, psycho muslims killing their own people is not anyones fault but the psycho muslims who decided on their own to do so and the psycho idiots that support the action.

lol dude my point i was getting at is that the Crusades was not just a christian only slaughter, alot of people were very heavily involved and interested in the same thing in those dark times....conquest and religious dominance.

does one not know about things like the Conquest of Cordoba? you know where Muslims took over the city of Cordoba and did their whole Islamic rule thing ???

Muhammed is one of the bloodiest religious leaders of all time, and yes he has killed to convert. Muslims have killed to convert, every religion except maybe Budhism has done so.

and lets not forget Islam got its roots from Christianity, except Islam just put its own twist on things. think of Muhammed as the old ages L.Ron Hubbard, except obviously more persuasive and ultimately much more successful.

yes of course many people kill for many other reasons, im sure muslims have killed for other things other than religion before. but the point we are trying to make here is when it comes to "religious" killings in these times we live in, Muslims have got a clear lead on everyone else hands down. sorry dude, just the fact of the matter.

you might think im some Muslim hating christian lol, but im not. im just telling the truth as it is. heck for all we know considering Islam is 600 years behind Christianity this might be the beginning of its own version of the Spanish Inquisition lol.

no but you are missing the point of the thread. the OP claims the Bible and apparently christians are more violent than Islam or anyone else. my simple remarks prove that the assertion of this thread is false because its Muslims these days killing in the name of their religion on a daily basis.

you hardly will hear of a story about christians being truly violent and committing heinous crimes against humanity because of religion.

it wont, because you arent seeing what is really going on. sorry dude.

That is how they describe themselves, and that is the term used to describe them in the literature I have read. That is to distinguish them from non-violent Islamists. If you want another word, ok. What word do you prefer?

PS. I know what Haram means!!

    Terrorists?

Like I said though, what is similar to their actions and Islam? If I claimed I was an astronaut from the future, would people believe me? They claim something they aren't, like many people do.

I know you know what Haram means that was for other people :p

So you do think that most of the civilian deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan ARE from al-Qaida/Taliban and no the invading armies? Wow...

I am not saying Muslims haven't killed anybody like you seem to think I am. I recognize this because it has happened and continues to happen today. Do you realize what Cordoba was like during that period?

Who did the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) force to convert or kill then? I told you what he did when he captured Mecca and why he was involved in defensive wars to protect Muslims from the Quraish tribe. Muhammad (PBUH) was one of the greatest men to ever live.

Christianity was a branch of Judaism that separated. Islam was not linked to Christianity. It is linked to both religions through Abraham (PBUH) and that is why all 3 religions have similarities: we all believe in the same God.

Even if these religious killings are against the teachings of the religion? There are more non-religious killings in the world than there are religious killings. That is my point. To criticize an entire religion because a small group claims to be killing in the name of religion isn't logical.

You do come off as that.

You haven't proven anything in the Quran that supports what the terrorists do in it's name. You haven't even mentioned the Holy Books until now...

As I said, they no longer do it for religion but how can you ignore that they still do these things with less religious motives? You sound like it's okay because they don't do it in the name of God anymore...

You are blind from what's going on from hatred and stereotypes as media propaganda....

"Muslim-American" is a contradiction in terms. A Muslim must attempt to limit my free speech if he or she is a faithful Muslim. Such a person can never be an American.

So you are against Muslims expressing themselves as American's.

Limiting their free speech and expression.

    Ahh I get it.

What have "good works" to do with the sadism and the sexual perversions of the Old Testament?

What moral values can a good Christian derive from the Old Testament?

Yet the Old Testiment is cited on a regular basis, in arguments in favor of divine morals (10 Commandments), denying homosexuals equal civil rights, etc. etc. etc.

Same can be said for Christians.

I don't see anything in the Bible that supports freedom of speech.

I actually see quite a few things against it.

    Who cares?

And what do you mean with "rights"?

You do not have to be a Christian to know what is a perversion.

    That is a nonsense.

Your own constitution gives everyone the freedom and right to pursue their own religon, or none.

    Are you advocating ignoring it?

There are few, if any moral values in the Old Testament. It is all smiting and fighting and stoning and land grabbing etc.

If you cannot be someone who follows the teachings of Jesus without harking back to the dark ages as justification for atrocities.....then you should not be calling yourself a Christian...at all.

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments " (John 14:15, KJV). and if you don't keep his commandments, how can you possibly call yourself a Christian? And given he said 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' and Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous and there are most certainly many on this forum who profess and preach Christianity....but are even less of a Christian than someone like me.

Basing your religion primarily on the Old Testament would, imo, make one a Jew.

I think you are working under the assumption that most 'Christians' would even know their way around a bible, or even what the difference is, between the OT and the NT.

I find that when you chip away at many, you often find out that they know almost nothing about the bible, other than it being a good vehicle to quote mine from, to support their already formed world view.

Check the quote in the first 14 seconds of this vid.

    It is so very true.

Your title is extremely misleading. But I agree the stupid right-wingers who put pressure on Lowes remind me of conservative non-violent Muslims in other countries who want strict laws for women. If these people actually had power in the government, it would be scary.

Today most if not all of these "OT-Prophets" would be called psychopaths, thieves, mass murderers, sexual perverts and sadists.

Here is the issue, in a nutshell, and it applies to all the Abrahamic faiths.

These books are not the world of 'god'.

They are just the words of men.

And what is apparent, is that beneath the sugar coating, they were not just any men, but men who engaged in acts, and endorsed acts that today we would all consider the actions of someone insane or immoral. Then passed it off as the will of 'god'. The duped suckers of the time, to do all sorts of things to please the god that they had created.

You think we would have sort of grown up and out of this sort of stuff, by now.
