    We refine both into gasoline, the bottom line is we sold our oil to be refined in China. Biden a few weeks ago was telling our oil companies to produce more oil and refine more gas, saying we had a shortage. He then started releasing our reserves and instead insuring our refineries are full of product to help gas prices he sold it to the highest bidder to sale it to China. At the same time, we imported 20 million barrels from Russia through India, all the while Joe's out their claiming he's killing the Russian economy. You simple can't make this stuff up, the lack of comprehensive detail to policy by the Administration is laughable. You literally can't make this stuff up its so bad.

    Yes but Oil revenues are souring this summer for them. It's really freaking pathetic, these countries like Germany and America, claim oil embargos then allow Russian oil to be bought through 3rd parties.

    You also have to take into account that it literally didn’t help prices at the pump at all. Anyone who is semi familiar with economics knew it would end up that way.

    There is a world market in oil.

    Biden doesn't get to control that market. Neither does any other country.


    Isn't this a well known fact?

    Hasn't it been stated by experts that releasing oil reserves is going to make no difference in gas price?

    It's more expensive because American refiners have to additionally process that higher sulfur content oil due to environmental regulations. Something refiners in Russia are not required to do.

    I doubt America was storing high sulfur content oil in its strategic reserves.

    You can NOT ignore the price of oil.

    The cost of Louisiana sweet in 2020 hit a low of $15.50 per barrel.

    In March of 2022 it exceeded $110.

    Obviously, oil is one component, but Louisiana sweet is NOT the only type that has skyrocketed in price. And, given difficulties in supply chain (that are world wide) one would have to guess that other components and processing requirements have increased, too.

    Your attempt to blame prices on environmental regulation are lame.

    They release the oil, it gets refined and sold. If it were earmarked just for domestic use, then the same amount of oil would have been taken out of the other oil and sold and it would be the same end. It is bought and sold on a global market and has been for a few decades. Well that may not currently favor us, it does add price stability of sorts for our allies overseas.

    Anyway, surprisingly gas has been coming down steadily since before the holidays locally. Less than $4.00 here at some places. Not much above $4 at others, so something is happening to bring them down.
