And yet you fail to understand or comprehend what it says, only apply what you want it to men. What about the alleged failure of man to live up to the standards that are man set of this church? Mans fallibility, yet you insist that this one man is correct in all things, as you claim yourself to be.

    Another fallacy of yours.

Are you still saving up for that dictionary to learn the meaning of those terms that you love to throw around without knowledge of their meaning?

And you, my dear Derideo, have still said nothing beyond mere opinion. By contrast, I didn't say one word about your pope Francis that wasn't the truth.... He's nothing but an 'entertainer', and a shill for international socialism and the global-warming fraud. He may be your pope, but he sure as hell isn't mine. And, I'll leave it at that.... Have a lovely Sunday!

You seriously need documentation about the Vatican bank and the pedophile priests under ratzy's odious regime?

    :roflol:

You are more than welcome to have him as "your pope".

The rest of the sane world prefers a real pope like Francis who actually embodies what it means in his actions as well as his words and I am saying that as an atheist!

Oh, drat it all! So, you're one of those people who look up at the unfathomable vastness of the night sky and say, "Yup, I'm sure of it! Nothing and no one created any of this...." :graduate:

I had been going to suggest that you recognize your 'pope' and I recognize mine, but, since you recognize no spiritual leader, that would be a futile gesture. So, I'll just wish you a happy life, a happy death, and a happy whatever-an-atheist-thinks-is-next, if anything at all....

[IMG]. "Meh... it's really all just a bunch of white paint spatters on a giant trash bag...." :lonely:

I look up at the night sky and wonder how many other kinds of life are out there and if any of them are looking up too and wondering if we exist. The entire basis for my life would not collapse, like yours will, if we were to make contact with any of them.

As far as your god goes I have an adult to adult relationship with him that does not require me to waste my life pretending to worship him and beg him for things that he has no intention whatsoever of providing. He told me that he would prefer that all of this followers would stop being so childish and grow up and take responsibility for their own lives instead.

What is it with women that makes them choose the most ridiculous hats to prove they have no self-perception whatsoever?

I'm not religious. I'm ideologically opposed to the system most, if not all, religions promote.

Many of them along with fundamentalist Muslims and radical antiGodists indeed frighten the sensible, reasonable human mind.

I don't believe any fairy tales, no matter how the religion is called in name and how they celebrate their faith ... bit I respect all religions ... if not being a pseudo religion where some morons declare to be Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Scientology or whatever to raise power about their followers and getting their money etc.

While my wife and I are still Christian, we associate with no particular denomination, and have not found a local church that feels like home.

You know nothing about my 'beliefs' except that I have been, nominally, a Roman Catholic at one point in my life. From that you extrapolate that I cannot believe that there is life on other planets, or in other parts of the universe, and that I would 'collapse' if such life were revealed to exist. What a pant-load of assumption-laden, dismissive crap! How wonderful it must be for you to have arrived at such an "adult" understanding of what God does, and does not do.

I can suggest that you explore some very useful, interesting aspects of 'god' by studying Buddhism and Hinduism as I did many years ago. At some point you may open your mind and understanding wide enough to embrace the concept of the incarnation of God that was Jesus, the Christ of God. But you may not....

Look back at that night sky and ask yourself again, "With other forms of life out there or not, am I really so CERTAIN that nothing and no one created any of this...?"

I go to morning meditation at the Zen center a couple of times a year. I also sometimes drop in on Eastern Orthodox Christian services and Quaker meetings. I find both extremely interesting and comforting.

If you allegedly studied Buddhism then you would know that your belief is entirely selfish and violates the principle on which one attains nirvana. The Christian belief is a cop out from assuming responsibility for one's actions and instead placing the entire responsibility on your imaginary deity instead.

Your fallacious appeal to an imaginary authority just establishes that your time would have been more productively spent learning the scientific method instead.

If you are going to ask questions then what is your answer to your deity's omnipotence paradox? Your entire belief system is riddled with contradictions and fallacies and you accept it entirely on faith because there is zero evidence to support any of it.

On the other hand science has already established that the building blocks for Abiogenesis occur naturally and once they solve the rest of that puzzle your "creator" loses yet another round.

The best thing about science is that it is self correcting. The worst thing about religion is that it requires cognitive dissonance to accept the contradictions inherent in the superstitious dogma because to do otherwise is blasphemy.

You have made your choice and I have made mine. I am more than comfortable knowing that I am making the best possible use of my life by not wasting any of it on silly superstitions. You appear to have a problem with anyone who does not embrace your superstitious beliefs. That is your problem, not mine. It is no skin off my nose what you choose to believe as long as it does no harm to me, or anyone else, for that matter.
