Actually it doesn't. Respondents were considerably more in favor than has been seen in other polling recently. It's unclear, however, whether this is a result of sampling, phrasing, or a genuine shift in opinion. Overall, 45% of respondents supported impeachment, with 29% of respondents saying "strongly." Overall, 30% of respondents opposed impeachment, with 20% of respondents saying "strongly." Twenty-five percent did not know or neither supported nor opposed impeachment. https://www.businessinsider.com/pol...peachment-inquiry-worry-about-blowback-2019-9
Not just impeachment, but removal from office. A lot of people don't understand that it's a two part process. More Americans are now on board with both parts of that. Trump's ranting and incoherent raving are not helping him. As usual, he lashes out like a child.
It was a landslide, just not in the right districts. We seriously need to get out from under that archaic electoral college. One American, one vote, majority wins.
Unfortunately, even if they were all in on invoking the 25th, they couldn't. Too many cabinet heads are "acting" and have not been vetted or confirmed bu the Senate. Trump likes it that way ... no oversight, he can put any sycophant in any office and no one can do anything about it.
Actually, Trump has been pushing Pence right into the heart of this whole Ukraine fiasco. It's almost as if he's been planning to make Pence his fall guy. It seems Pence is worried. https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/02/politics/pence-ukraine-anxiety-trump/index.html If he has been doing Trump's bidding in this personal vendetta against Biden, impeachment could be waiting for him as well. Guess who is next in line?
Interesting theory, but I'm not sure it's a factor... https://www.quora.com/Would-the-abs...ent-Section-4-if-he-needed-the-acting-Cabinet Sure would be DAMN fun to watch put to the test though, wouldn't it??
It isn't supposed to be about political expediency. It's their constitutional duty to check an out of control president. This is about right vs wrong, and impeaching Trump is simply the right thing to do. The Dems were cowardly for long enough, but they cannot ignore this.
"Polls" are like buttholes -- everybody's got one.... And "polls" -- of both the Left and Right, are probably the most manipulated, propagandized tools in all of politics. Look at who really owns any particular "poll", and you can usually find out the political affiliations and the "spin" the authors desire. That said, I'm very glad to hear that all the radical Democrats are whipping themselves into a fever to 'impeach'... it will provide the proper venue for ALL the filthy, rotten, corrupt fun that Geriatric Joe and his kid had in Ukraine to be paraded out into the full light of day.... . "Hey! Shut those damned blinds!"
But half of the country doesn't view it as an out of control president but an out of control progressive party that is willing to do ANYTHING to remove this president at any cost, even if it's legal or not. Matter of fact, many of us could care less for Trump but what the liberal base is doing, forces even the moderate republicans to defend Trump. Seriously, if the libs would not have presented lie after lie, Tulsi would be my gal but the Democrats do not care for her and now call her a Russian shill.
