So Trump has been audited but that wasn't enough?

    Who cares?

Nixon was also yet Congress caught him cheating.
The issue is oversight. Do you trust an agency that reports to the president to audit the president?

Has the IRS all these years?

We don't know what was the reasoning but now that he is turning them over what is it you expect to be found we don't already know of any importance and is required for this legislation this committee is trying to mark up?

Has the FEC ever filed a charge against Trump. Has the IRS ever notified the FEC of a possible misreporting?

Do you believe we the citizens are to be safe in our effects and papers from unreasonable search and seizure?

    *LOL*

It's a different set of statutes. Really, look them up. Tell me if you don't understand the difference between legislative bodies and other entities. You p[lainly don't understand this stuff.

Thankfully, the SCOTUS does even if you don't.

Cite and quote what you're talking about. Based upon your history, I'm pretty sure you don't know what you're talking about.

Your posts make very little sense, and yet we're supposed to make a number of absurd assumptions to believe them.

Which is offensive to the 4th Amendment's protection of our privacy from government invasion without a probable cause. Don't you support the right to privacy?

Why are Presidential audits different from any other tax audit? Has the IRS testified that there are problems specific to audits when it is the President? Why would they need Trump's returns in order to pass some legislation you can't even describe what it would be.

When it was pointed out that his tax returns have been audited for years and the IRS has never charged him with any tax violation you responded that it was the TRUMP IRS insinuating the IRS was corruptly covering up tax crimes he has committed. I asked for you evidence and you have been dancing ever since.

I didn’t insinuate anything. I’m saying when the agency that does the audits also reports to the president, oversight is needed.

The difference inlies that those entities had been created for the specific purpose of the very oversight the House is asking for. The House of Representatives cannot be a separate IRS, anymore than it could be a separate department of justice.

This means more than Donald Trump, this is an abuse of power and a violation of the separation of powers doctrine. Only the judiciary may issue warrants, which permit the seizing of documents. It infuriates me that our own judiciary basically waved away its own powers saying "welp, we trust Congress"

First - this is not about whether he paid the right amount of taxes. It’s about whether his tax returns reveal other things that should be of concern. Like -maybe - debts owed to foreigners. Or income from foreign governments.

Second - your argument that this is wrong is an argument that every SCOTUS judge is wrong. Every single one of them. Do you really think your legal analysis is better than theirs?

Exactly. "Umm, you have privacy rights to keep, err, your returns, guhr, from the government!"

    Umm, no, my good chum.

As I told Hey Now, an appeal to authority doesn't make their decision any better. If they ruled you had to jump off a bridge, would you? Tragically, there's no way to 'appeal' the Supreme Court. But their ruling on this matter makes the following errors. The judiciary surrenders its power to the government, the government has abusive-levels of authority that can target future citizens, not just Trump. Since the Court accepted the claim on its face, Congress did not and has no intent to prove the legislative purpose in its claim.

And I just posted a quote that showed our history regarding taxes, as far back as the 1880's. This is not a new debate or discussion, this power is something we don't want Congress to have.

If Congress doesn't trust the IRS, they can just look at Biden's taxes.

All politicians should make their taxes open for public scrutiny in my opinion. Handing over control of our money to those that do not is a roll of the dice. Those that can’t handle their own finances should not be responsible for how our taxes are spent.

I agree, but there's a constitutional way to go about it. Congress can't pass a law that only applies to the president.

Well the request was made years ago, but the trump admin refused to follow the law. How many other laws did they ignore?
