Doesn't matter, they knew exactly what would happen so it was purposeful, probably even part of the plan.

You’re proving my point. Labor shouldn’t fuel racial resentment. America has mastered it. Everybody should have the same rights, fair wage, and standard of living. Workers should organize together in attaining those goals for all, instead you can’t stop complaining and blaming your issues on the poorest and least powerful amongst yourselves.

Companies cannot ban together and form monopolies let's apply that to unions.

Is the only way to withhold your labor is to do intentional property damage? They own the employer?

I was in two unions, forced to do so explicitly and implicitly in Right to Work states, managed two union workforces and then since the 1980's till recent retirement was in industrial sales in an out of all sorts of manufacturing and union/non-union factories. From those 1980's till the 2010's the transition from union to non-union was consistent and very apparent. More and more I would go into unionized company and the workers all were unhappy there were always conflicts and grievances petty nonsense and "us against the man" only do what you have to do mentality. In the non-unions with many of those workers coming from previous unionized jobs they were LOTS happier, friendly, willing to help to do other jobs just a more pleasant workplace where they actually could feel like they had a role in the success of the company and that meant success for them. The union held me and many good workers I knew back because the union wants to manage the "success" of the workers and convince them only the union can get them that success.

THAT is why unions are on the way out. I don't get this thing with Biden that the ONLY jobs of any worth are UNION jobs and UNION workers are better workers than those pesky non-union workers and he only supports union jobs. Has anyone ever told him a mere 6% of the private work force is union? He insults the other 94%.

And they were sued and a lower court ruled that the union was protected under the FLRA and could engage in such intentional property damage and SCOTUS just dealt the unions a blow by saying what you just said.........they do NOT get such protection under the law. Let the prosecutions begin.

And unions have always and still do engage in such violence and damages and intimidation.

Yeah. If we give people too many individual rights, they will gain up on powerful elites, and we can’t have that.

Then get those European countries to lift their trade restrictions on American manufactured goods and open their markets to us.

Our standard of living is equal to or better than most European and countries world wide.

How did my suggestion take away anyone's right? What right? Do companies, you know people who assemble to form an economic venture, have a right to a monopoly in order to force their will on the market? Do those people have rights? Can all the meat packing companies just form one company as the unions can form one union to cover the workers across all companies?

Are you saying union workers have a right to property destruction against the employer?

What on earth are you talking about. IN 1972 I worked in a manufactured home plant in Alabama. My leadman was black and half my con-workers were black. In 1974 I worked in a shipyard in Mississippi building Navy ships. Of course it was union but even though Mississippi is a right to work state I was casually informed when I entering the company that if I did not join the union I should not be surprised to fined by tires slashed out in the parking lot or a piece of steel dropping 5 decks onto my hard hat. My leadman was black, the supervisor on my department was black. We had no racial resentment due to race.

When I was in management in Chicago the workforce was a mix of black, Puerto-Rican, Cuban and Mexican and a minority white. Was there racial resentment. You betcha but it had nothing to do with the union or the company that was just city-wide and brought INTO the company from outside.

And purposely did so TO do the property damage. If I have an operator operating a piece of equipment and in the middle of operating that piece of equipment they just decide to withhold their labor and walk away knowing that doing so will wreck that piece of equipment in very short order costing millions did they have a right to do so? Could I not sue them for the damage they knowingly and purposely caused?

If a truck driver for a food company knew they were going to strike in one hour and then loads up their truck and drives off knowing that when that hour elapses they will just pull it over to the side and turn it off and let all the food spoil is that their right to withhold their labor? Should not the company be able to sue them for damages and even have them prosecuted for the intentional property damage?

Do you not make the distinction between "I will not show up tomorrow" and "I'm walking off the job"? When you accept employment at a company you agree to show up for your work hours and complete your shifts. Shouldn't walking off the job be a firing offense?

Americans life expectancy rates keep falling. Americans work longer hours and earn less than Europeans.

There are certain industries that have extra responsibility. An airliner pilot cannot go on strike, parachute out and let the plane crash.
The court ruled in essence that driver of a concrete truck cannot let the concrete destroy the truck, nor can they simply dispose of the product. There are strikes for pay, but you can't aim your strike at destroying the employer's plant, equipment, or product.

The way you frame organized labor and workers rights as monopolies and force of will on markets is unfortunate. All workers should have basic rights. Workers aren’t oppressive to businesses and markets, but only individuals have rights. Markets don’t have rights. Workers are not an oppressive hegemony. Government shouldn’t be busting and curtailing workers. Small government conservatives should be advocating for government to get the hell out of way, because business (should be) comprised of adults willing to negotiate and bargain their terms with DC calling shots.

I know you are trying to make this that union strikes are bad: but let's look at the history of MLB strikes that led to the 1994 strike.

The 1985 Baseball strike lasted two days, with all but 2 games made up. The playoffs still happened.

In 1984, the umpires strike at the end of the season and MLB had to rely on Big Ten Baseball umpires for the games.

The 1994 baseball strike was about money and who got it. The owners wanted to put a cap on salaries. The players disagreed. And the owners wanted to forgo the union contract. In fact, what started the whole strike was that the owners withheld the $7.8 million pay to those players who already earned the money.

Sorry, but minorities do not have special privileges. They have the same as you, but they just do it better than you, most of the time.

Racial resentment occurs no matter what your ethnicity or skin color is, but in today's social media world, you can't go by then a "karen" yelling at a minority for doing their job, just walking the dog or other stupid stuff.

You might want to take a look at the video below for the top 25 "karens" who became famous on social media for all the wrong reasons.

When the Papermakers Union has the entire unionized work force in that industry it is acting as a monopoly. You do realize unions are businesses too.

What rights are being denied the 94% of the private labor force that is not union?

You have a right to accept and offer of employment or not. You have a right to quit on the job, should the company be able to force you to work if you quit without cause, file a grievance against the worker? Why not it's should be an equal matter don't ya think. The employers are people too what about their rights to their property?

OK no one said markets do. People who own companies do.

Government shouldn't be busting and curtailing people who own companies.

What makes you think I don't want government out of the way as much as possible? After getting ripped off by two unions in my early career I negotiated every work agreement I ever had and bargained on my own I never asked nor sought nor would have wanted DC calling the shots why would you think so?

Can I form a white persons club on campus? Can I do so in the workplace. Can companies offer scholarships to just white people? Is there a certain amount of white people that must be in the workforce or class size the must be white else measures should be taken to make it so?

How did Citizens United do that exactly? How did it make my vote not equal to someone else's I am not aware that it made so that when some people vote they get to so more than once.

Simple, corporations are not people too and dark money buys politicians. Both parties have dark money problems but dark money has corrupted the R party at all levels including the current SCOTUS. Time for you to deflect and gaslight....

Well some here apparently think otherwise.

The lower court ruled they could just dispose of it by making sure that it would not be usable by the time the company could get to it. They purposely destroyed it.

Nor should you be able to just walk off the job, that is a firing offense especially if you did so knowing you would destroy product or equipment and if you read the ruling the majority opinion noted the long term damage to the equipment is unknown. Allowing all the concreted to cure inside and turn while doing so could have also harmed the equipment. You know why there are so many Ready-Mix plants around? Because once they mix it and pour it in that truck there is a tight time limit to get it poured.

"ASTM C-94, Specification for Ready-Mixed Concrete, does place a time requirement on delivered concrete. The document states that discharge of the concrete shall be completed within 1 ½ hours after the introduction of the mixing water to the cement and aggregates, or the introduction of the cement to the aggregates. "
    https://www.concreteconstruction.ne...precast/how-long-can-a-ready-mix-truck-wait_o

The drivers knew this when they picked up the load and knew they were going to walk off the job. They should be charged with destruction of property on a criminal level and forced to pay restitution.

Yea we drive more in cars and have more black and Latino gangs shooting each other and we make more efforts to save you preemie babies than Europe and if they don't make it that is recorded as a human life lost as opposed to other countries doing otherwise. And the fact that life expectancy is not a measure of the efficacy of the healthcare system for a variety of reasons.

Of course corporations are just people in reality and under the law. What do you think a corporation is something that comes out of the swamp at night. A corporation is nothing more than a group of people exercising the right to assemble into a joint economic endeavor. They have a right to their free speech and issues and any other group of people.

Perhaps you should read the 1 US Code Chapter 1 Section 5 to see what the law as passed by Congress says putting it right at the beginning.

Again how did CU deny you any vote or speech? You are perfectly free to join with other groups of people no one is stopping you.

Government shouldn’t be intervening to call shots. You’re biased against unions. If I want to bargain and negotiate with my employer through my union, it’s not your business or the government’s business. Do you not realize how many rights you have because unions fought for your rights and won? I bet you don’t know what unions have accomplished for you. That’s a shame.
