Susan Collins says she won’t support Supreme Court nominee who shows ‘hostility to Roe v. Wade

Instead of straining mightily to contrive pretenses for your desperate need to enjoin the coercive power of the State to impose your notions upon American women (whose interests in the matter are far more germane than are yours,) why not trust them to make appropriate decisions that concern such significant personal matters for them?

Nothing appears to prevent you from preaching your attitude at them, and if they, like most folks, reject your postulations (in a matter that is, clearly, far more personal for them than for you) you might consider their having the right to differ in a matter of such import for them.

Neither their circumstances, beliefs, nor feelings can be imposed by you, nor should their decisions. Most are eager to have a human develop in her womb if her personal situation - which she best understands - permits.

Prior to a fetus developing to the stage that it is a person and deserving of the protection of society, trusting a woman, in consultation with her loved ones and medical and spiritual advisers in whom she places her trust, to determine her own course in such a private matter is an alternative to unleashing government bureaucracy to impose your will upon others.

Please consider trusting women to make such significant choices for themselves, instead.

He's picking Kavanaugh because Kavanaugh believes a President shouldn't be distracted by lawsuits or criminal investigations. He's counting on Kavanaugh's Pro Choice history to get him past Collins and the Pro Life Block of Senators to sell out their beliefs.

 

Because his other top choice is Amy Coney Barrett. Which will bring about an end to the lefts headgames over redistricting. Plus at the same time he gets to put that smackdown on Feinstein for screwing Barrett over last time. Moreover as a woman.....the leftness will look like the absurd and petty attacking a woman. One that is younger than Kavanaugh.

Roe vs Wade is never going to be overturned nor to be perfectly clear is abortion going to be a state controlled issue where dysfunctional or practically Neanderthal level mental capacity, bible thumping state legislators can ban it. Period.

I again am chastened by the few conservative victories we have received, moderate mostly... for people with far right or religious right views to now take the bit in the teeth and think they are in control of anything. I agree with this congresswoman and just because she's not an idiot does not make her a GOP rhino. That's far right talk and of course total BS. She is setting the stage for wanting a moderate SCOTUS conservative appointee.

My family is personally pro life. We established that my wife and I. What other families choose as per outlined by law as determined by scientists as acceptable periods to end a pregnancy is their choice. This is not a state or federal issue. This is a family issue.

So my advice is for the religious and far right to get a reality check, not deciding anything on any subject.

Abortion control....no more than 1 abortion every 5 years and you must go through training and watch all legal abortion procedures prior to an abortion....and we will probably want to review those abortion procedures to ensure they arent torture. Also...we are gonna be adding more regulations to abortion clinics to make sure they pay for training and birth control from a percentage of what we deem is appropriate. Hows that sound? Some politicians, especially males, want to dictate to women, and some citizens, mostly male, want to surrender women's rights to those politicians.

If the current regime forces those who opt for abortion for their own personal reasons to seek them illegally again, despite the serious health risks, that is what they will do again.

Fortunately, for women who can afford it, there is no shortage now of advanced nations where the State will not dictate to them concerning their personal choices.

 

Trump will nominate Amy Coney Barrett, United States Circuit Judge. The only way she won't be confirmed will be if somebody has a video clip of her trashing Roe v. Wade. If that doesn't happen then Republicans can use the Reid Rule to get her confirmed quickly and even the RINOs like Collins will go along. No Democrats will vote for her of course but nobody needs them now.

Democrats might as well get a grip on the reality that their takeover of the judicial battlefront in this country is over. They won't be able to depend on using some damn federal judge somewhere like San Francisco to throw out the will of millions of voters who want no part of their judicial activism.
