Take guns away from those who are potentially violent

Can someone explain to me how it makes sense to make it a crime for a "potentially violent" person to have a gun?
I mean, you think they would respect the law, but also start shooting in a crowded public place?

Some might try to make the argument "well maybe we'll catch them before they commit the mass shooting". Yeah, how likely is that?

So it seems to me that such a law would be more likely to just send a bunch of people to prison for not going along with the plan.

It's a very slippery slope when you begin trying to "identify" particular people, people who have not committed a serious crime yet. That's pretty much the exact same type of logic for gun control over an entire population, just scaled back a little bit.

Actually menstruation does equal violence, according to science.

So, with valid scientific proof that women are more violent during menses, should their guns be taken away during that period?

 

Should rights be taken away on the basis of race? How about that?
If, for example, some study comes out showing transgender Eskimos between the ages of 21 to 26 are 15 times more likely than the general population to be the perpetrator of a gun homicide, should we take away their rights?

 

'Potentially violent' is a term for future crimes.

Do you really want to be presumed guilty until you are able to prove your innocence?

If someone is too dangerous to own a gun they should be locked up
