    Reagan was the start of spending fake money to bolster the economy (up 160%). Reagan will be seen as the father of eventual collapse of the dollar in the history books. All Presidents since then have used massive deficit spending to make it appear that the economy was stronger than it really is. Trump is on track to beat Obama in deficit spending.

    You didn't save thousands of jobs. You simply maintained an inefficient and unproductive business model. You think demand for vehicles in the US was going to drop or no one would fill the gap?

    I know, rescuing the economy is terrible and damn, tripling the stock market...irreparable. And what could be worse than being respected all over the world.

    ...The Treasury Department invested $80.7 billion from the $700 billion authorized by Emergency Economic Stabilization Act. It recouped all but $10.2 billion. It both lent money and bought stock ownership in GM and Chrysler. It also provided incentives to spur new car purchases. In effect, the government nationalized GM and Chrysler just as it did Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the American International Group.

    Actually it could have continued to go down! Duh! We were losing 700,000 jobs a month when he took office. Think there couldn’t be more job losses? The stock market couldn’t go lower? Duh! But instead it near,y tripled
