I think 'eaten by spider monkeys' would be an epic epitaph.

Dogs and wolves can breed and that is the biological definition of being the same species. Dogs are the most heavily bred of all domesticated animals over thousands of years and the variety this has produced within this species exceeds any other and is quite extraordinary, as we all know. Darwin was intrigued by this and it formed a large part of the theory which he used to explain the Origin of Species.

In the wild, wolves are about middling size and quite lean. They are also timid creatures. Their reputation for ferocity comes from dog/wolf admixtures since dogs are bred for aggressiveness

If he had a lion the surrounding villagers would have brought him food so he wouldn't release it on them and he'd still be alive

As far as I know, dog will wait a longer time however before starting eating the corpse than cats.
If I'm not wrong, dogs tend to have more ocytocin (the hormon of linking) release than cat when they see their owner. However, we're speaking of the average dog, not the ill bred one.

Cats are generally much smaller than dogs, Smaller things have to eat more and more often to maintain a necessarily faster metabolism. If a cat becomes too hungry it will be unable to eat and then die, dogs don't have that problem nearly as bad.

Why shouldn't your pet eat your corpse if nothing else is available? I wouldn't choose it but then I wouldn't choose to die alone with just my pets either, and I would feel bad if my animal died just to respect my cadaver (were I not dead)

    Sounds like an embellished story.

My sister got a an autographed JFK picture years ago for her elementary school (real signature because our uncle worked in the White House). The LA Times had a picture of her next to the signed JFK picture with a nice human interest piece where she sat on JFK's lap. Page 2!

Didn't happen. Fake news. Total BS. My sister was mortified because she felt she had to tell all the kids it wasn't true.

    What?

Saying that small animals eat more than large animals doesn't make any sense.

When we lived out in the country, a dairy farmer had a lion. The damn thing got out a couple of times and the township finally told the guy the lion had to go.

I'll never understand why people have "pets" like giant snakes and lions. It's not like you can play fetch or take them for walks.

Haven't seen anyone playing frisbee catch with lions and snakes either.

Beats me. My uncle had a pet monkey who bit him all the time. Who needs that?

The smaller something is the faster it's metabolism must be because its ratio of surface area to volume is larger and it radiates heat much faster. A shrew, the smallest mammal, has a heartbeat of nearly 600 beats a minute and must eat a quarter its tiny weight dally to stay alive

Ok, it may eat a lot compared to it's relative size, but it doesn't eat more than a large animal.

A panda can also eat a quarter of it's weight in one day.

A vulture can eat 20% of it's weight in one meal.

Sorry, I should have said ratios, not amounts overall. It remains a fact that a small animal must eat a larger amount in relation to its size than a larger one

A panda eats nothing but bamboo, and I am not surprised it has to eat a lot to get any nourishment.

It was just a thought, I'm sure you know for sure what happened since Lefties know it all. How about this idea, I know what happens with pigs and feral pigs are a big problem in TX. Maybe a follow up story will tell us for sure.
