Here we post the things we thank GOD for this year...It's easy to say that you thank God for your health and your family...Please be more specific. Here are mine.

I thank GOD I was able to attend the Star Tours II premiere at Disneyland.
I thank GOD for giving me the strenght to dance and swim at the casino and WIN sometimes.
I thank GOD for keeping my car running and without problems.
I thank GOD for giving me the money to buy the vintage collection Y wing from star wars for my collection.
I thank GOD for the great trip I made to vegas and the comic con.
I thank GOD for giving me a happy life and giving me a wonderful GF.
I thank GOD I have a job and always have money in my star wars wallet.
I thank GOD for inventing the cellphone, because I couldn't be without it.
I thank GOD for Star Wars and the The Thing prequel & TRON LEGACY.

Have fun and don't take it so seriously, God knows you love these things.

Well, JD. I don't think that God needs to be thanked for such a list as this. He's not responsible for any of these material things. It wasn't part of why He had to come to earth to suffer for mankind and take our sins and give us eternal life. I understand from a human point of view why you're thankful, I just think that our real thanks to Him should be for the spiritual blessings that we have and of course our Salvation.

    Enjoy your turkey. Serious.

What if they are doing great and don't believe in any God?

Then they're of course dellusioned. Obviously, you don't get to see Star Wars, go to a casino or to start a car succesfully without Jedimiller's god.

I would like to thank god for waking me in the morning, giving me the motivation to go to work, for pushing the earth and the sun, and creating the world in six days just a few thousand years ago.

I would suggest to the millions of the starving children in the world that they are simply praying wrong. Maybe they should be praying for a new phone, or maybe win a baseball game instead of food?

    Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
    Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
    Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
    Then why call him God?”

I dont thank God for jack. I got everything I have with the sweat of my brow. Everything else cam from friends and family. God didnt give me a job or a good movie - I had to get that myself. Same with the car, bed to sleep on, money to survive etc etc. When he does, I'll tell him to give it to the dying, diseased and destitute - they need it more than I can imagine. Funny how God doesnt give them anything.

You are sitting on a chair that is resting on a floor that is part of a house built on top of a foundation that was set into the Earth which was created by God.

If there was no God, you would have no place to rest your butt.

Stop complaining and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

My boss' daughter went to Africa and volunteered to help these people. She brought eyeglasses donated by friends and neighbors and distributed them to people in the villages. She also distributed medicine and tended to the sick.

This girl plans to go to medical school and return to Africa and help them a as a doctor.

She is inspired to do these things by her faith in Jesus Christ.

    WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???

WHAT HAS YOUR ATHEISTIC BELIEFS INSPIRED YOU TO DO OTHER THAN WHINE AND COMPLAIN???

Well, I never thought about it, but I guess atheists lack the ability to be thankful, huh? Everything just kinda comes to 'em 'for free' as they say.

I thank God for leading me to this forum where I've met some great folks from all over the world. And I thank God for our wonderful country. I'm thankful there are enough of us who believe in God & country to bring her back from the brink of ruin.

Happy Thanksgiving, jedimiller! Thanks for the reminder of what it's all about! ;)

I thank God I believe in God because otherwise I'd be a miserable sot with nothing to look forward to but old age, death, and an eternity of non-existence.

    lol

This is amusing. I make a comment about your deity enjoying the starvation of innocent children, and you put it off on me saying that your daughter was inspired by god to go.

    LOL

Do you see how ridiculous this sounds? She could be an atheist and do the same thing.

Why thank a god for the petty things in our life when it allows children to starve to death? Do you see how little sense that makes?

Men create starving children. God provides an abundant earth. Nobody has to feed robins. Why aren't people smarter than robins?

Famines are almost always a side-effect of war or a deliberate policy of genocide committed by a government against a certain ethnic group.

Famines are caused by the evil of men, not by God.

It's easy to sit back in your easy chair and whine about the world's problems and blame them on God.

But you haven't fed one child with your whining and you never will.

God's not at fault here. All people who are starving can rest the blame with men. Men created the mess these people are living in. Men can also fix the problem but other men prevent it in many cases.

Why blame God? You don't even believe in God, do you? If not, look in the mirror.

    Christ.

I should simply stop being surprised at how little thought Christians give their religion.

To honestly and truthfully blame God or any other entity for a particular actual circumstance in life, the one that is being blamed must exist, else ones blame is meaningless and futile.... not to mention ILLOGICAL. It would seem more logical in the face of believing that God does not exist, that the blame would need to be placed on those that do exist.

What is your evidence for this?

I have found such an assertion groundless. Incidentally, having a place to "rest your butt" is hardly something to be thankful for if you are starving, diseased, etc as many many people are.

BAHAHAHA! Epic fail. A total non setuitur. NONE OF WHAT YOU SAID EXPLAINS WHY GOD HAS DONE NOTHING TO HELP THESE PEOPLE HIMSELF.
