So those babies were guilty of a crime? They has done something that warranted their murder?

And you haven't the decency to avoid violating the intentions of this discussion. This discussion is clearly concerning the axiological dimensions of the Atheist political ideology, and I have asked you to continue the scripture discussion in another thread - please do so, or I will request the intervention of forum moderation.

How can you trust the morality of a god that commands the killing of innocent babies?

    Go for it.
    That's a terrifying proposition.
Make your case to them that responding to your post regarding the bible was not on point.
    Good luck with that.

atheism simply NOT believing that there is a god.

An atheist lives his/her life with effect with no need of God or religion or its dogma.

There is no defining set of Atheist morals and ethics.

But funnily enough, atheists have a robust set of morals and ethics that are not "recieved" but rather developed and chosen and live by without threat of retribution, but by their sense of right/wrong and justice.

When people do it unjustly, its morally wrong.
Whenever God executes a moral judgement, it is NEVER wrong.

    You're born guilty.

Don't we abort babies? Don't babies die everyday? If we don't fight to the death against abortion, aren't we then complicit in the murder of children? Aren't babies killed everyday by parents, drug warlords, terrorist, collateral damage in war, etc.? What are we doing against any of those?

They're guilty. How can I trust a government that does the same? How can I trust the morality of a person that sits in judgment of a Creator, as though he, the creation, is any more morally good than the giver of those morals?

How can a baby be guilty of anything?

I don't kill babies. I've never instructed anyone to kill babies. And I sure as hell don't take moral direction from anyone who does order the killing of babies. Your moral compass is broken if you think it's okay to kill a baby because its parents are jerks.

This question is silly if you want the words "moral" or "good" to have any kind of objective meaning. How can we follow the example of Christ if His morality is understood to be different from ours?

He is not judging the creator. He is judging your understanding.
I have to agree. Condemning infants as being inherently "guilty" is an unhinged concept to me, regardless of the systematic theology you rest this belief on.

So I guess you fight against abortion, right? You're doing everything you can, including risking life and limb to stop abortion, right?

Babies are guilty because they're born in sin.

Are you saying God can't stop the killing and death of infants that happen everyday?

Putting abortion aside for a moment, as it must open up a different conversation about when life begins, the rest of your post seems to imply that the death of children by parents, warlords, terrorists and during war are ok. Otherwise, what is your point? That these deaths are horrible and tragic and deeply unjust killing of innocents? Why should we do anything about this, as they are simply as guilty as anyone else?
Isn't that your understanding of your God's morality?

    - - - Updated - - -

I'm not attempting to advance a theology.
Your question is unresponsive to the post.

So do you believe a question can be answered in any other way than by avoiding it by asking a deflective question?

If you don't like my responses, feel free not to reply. Yes the killing of infants by us is horrible, because we are not the just judge of the universe, who's laws have been transgressed. However the Creator, who designed laws, that are transgressed, acts justly in His actions. Even if you believe that He didn't kill those babies in 1 samuel, does He stop the killing of babies around the world?

sure, and sometimes I employ it, but most often I do not.

This is why many have difficulty taking you seriously. Your avoidance smacks of cowardice, and here you proudly state that your default response is a deflective question, and there is nothing noble about that.

Generally I respond to a post BECAUSE I don't like it.
Bringing up the killing of children by men becomes totally irrelevant, by your reckoning, because there is no distinction between an adult and an infant in their inherent filth. Why should we mourn them any more than any adult?
For me, the unjust murder of children is a huge tragedy, and it makes no difference at who's hand they fall. Having ultimate power to do it would not suddenly change that moral calculus.

Well, I'm sure you're fighting tooth and nail, and risking life and limb to rid the world of the killing of children, unborn and born, correct?

When I ask a question, that leads to the answer of the question you asked, how is that not answering?

And I really don't care if you or anyone else takes me "seriously".

You know, being called a coward, by the likes of you, really hurts.....

So if God commanded you to murder a child, you would do it because it is morally right, yes?

    - - - Updated - - -

I'm loving how you are comparing human actions to commands from a supposedly perfectly moral God.

Exactly what crime were those babies guilty of?

God has not revealed Himself in this way in this time. He speaks through the scriptures. Also in these last days, I don't believe He gives audible commands, He may, but I don't believe He does. So if you get a "Command" from God, you have to question whther its really God talking. I would tend to think that its not. If God spoke to me audibly, I would probably think I was crazy.

Why does God get a special exception? If something is wrong it should be wrong no matter who does it.

Are you arguing that with God it comes down a might makes right, do as I say not as I do, I'm moral because I say I'm moral and if you disagree I'll torture you forever exception?

Why would worship a clearly immoral monster like that?

    - - - Updated - - -

How do you know God isn't choosing to make a New New Covenant?

I voted no since morality has nothing to do with atheism.
