and how is that multicultural Jeffersonian democracy springing to life on the banks of the Euphrates going? Is it really the beacon of freedom that brought down all the despotic middle eastern regimes like Dubya envisioned?

    - - - Updated - - -

does being on SSI and food stamps give someone the knowledge of chemical weapons shelf life necessary to make such a claim?

with your arrogance of demanding answers answer me this Clinton Kerry and dozens more democrats was privy to the same intelligence reports that Bush used to come to the conclusion to go to war the same conclusion that Clinton Kerry and dozens of democrats also came to so why are you not holding them to your absurd standard why are you giving them a pass

none of them - except Gore, when he was a private citizen - ever stated with absolute certainty that Saddam had stockpiles of WMDs. NONE of them ever suggested that Saddam and Osama bin Laden had been in cahoots prior to 9/11. None of them ever ordered our troops into battle.

The truth doesn't set well with you, huh?

Personally, I was opposed to the invasion of Iraq, but I didn't need to support a lie to justify my position. WMD, or the lack thereof had nothing to do with my view. But then, truth is important to me, unlike you.

do you have proof that WMD's were shipped to Syria or don't you? Just a simple yes or no. The hour is late and tap dancing is really no longer on the menu.

I would like for you to give me the link that Bush or anyone in his administration said with absolute certainty there was WMD
when you go to congress to ask permission to use military force and they agree to give him the authorization for that force what do you think they thought Bush was going to do with that authority they knew dam well what their vote was going to do

so I will ask you again why do you hold Clinton Kerry and dozens of democrats at a different standard or are you just being the typical double standard hypocritical liberal that has not one once of creditability eroded by your hypocrisy

and many of the congressmen who voted for the use of force resolution certainly hoped that Bush would wait and see what the UN inspectors found vis a vis WMD's before invading Iraq for the purpose of disarming Saddam... it might be nice, I am sure they thought, to make sure there were any WMD's to disarm him of before invading him for the purpose of doing so. Instead... Bush kicked the inspectors out of Iraq so he could quickly get his war on before they could tell him there was no reason to.

Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations.

    Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, February 5, 2003

continuing to possess sounds like that was a statement of certainty
and those democrats could have very easily attach that requirement to the resolution so why didn't they?
your hypocrisy with every post just erodes any creditability you have

so again I will ask why do you hold Clinton Kerry and dozens of democrats at a different standard

I see you had to embellish this spin piece with yet another recitiation of the famous right wing "the Iraq war wasnt' really our idea" quotes.

You would think that after 12 years of having them taken apart and put back in context on a regular basis, you'd finally get the idea that you're not convicing anyone, or making a valid point with them.

Of ocurse, the conclusions of the Robb-Silverman Commission didn't hold up under even slight scrutiny. Reading the Executive Summary makes that very clear. It's also clear that the scope of the study was seriously perscribed for political reasons.

This was a Bush adminstration tactic. It too LBJ just three days to establish the Warren Commission. It took Bush a year and a half to establish the 9/11 Commission, and even then he had to be shamed into it. And yet, he continued to interfere with the Commission's work, whitholding evidence and trying to financially starve the Commission. He did the same thing to the Senate Select Committee, deliberatly negotiating a two phase investigation that didn't examine the White House or the Pentagon's role until after the 2004 election.

The fact that Bush deliberately used intelligence claims that he and his advisors knew were false is not a question of debate, and has not been for several years now.

I am not here defending any democrat. I am here condemning the president of the united states for lying to his countrymen and taking them into a war that did not need to be fought. I have NEVER subsequently voted for a democrat who voted for the use of force resolution and I have no intention of doing so in the future unless that democrat has been contrite in their admission that giving such carte blanche to Dubya was a mistake.

I have made the case that Dubya lied. He and his team stated absolute certainty when it did not exist. that is undeniable. they lied. they lied about Saddam and Osama being buddy buddy before 9/11. they misled us into war. that war cost us $2T and 40K US casualties. The fact that you would continue to support and defend such an action makes me want to puke.

    good night.

Because Clinton and Kerry had no intention of starting a war, that's why. George Bush did.

Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction.
    Dick Cheney
    August 26, 2002

Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for the production of biological weapons.
    George W. Bush
    September 12, 2002

If he declares he has none, then we will know that Saddam Hussein is once again misleading the world.
    Ari Fleischer
    December 2, 2002

The president of the United States and the secretary of defense would not assert as plainly and bluntly as they have that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction if it was not true, and if they did not have a solid basis for saying it.
    Ari Fleischer December 6, 2002

We know for a fact that there are weapons there.
    Ari Fleischer January 9, 2003

Our intelligence officials estimate that Saddam Hussein had the materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent.
    George W. Bush
    January 28, 2003

We know that Saddam Hussein is determined to keep his weapons of mass destruction, is determined to make more.
    Colin Powell
    February 5, 2003

We have sources that tell us that Saddam Hussein recently authorized Iraqi field commanders to use chemical weapons -- the very weapons the dictator tells us he does not have.
    George W. Bush
    February 8, 2003

So has the strategic decision been made to disarm Iraq of its weapons of mass destruction by the leadership in Baghdad? . . . I think our judgment has to be clearly not.
    Colin Powell
    March 7, 2003

We believe he has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons.
    Vice President Dick Chaney
    March 16, 2003

Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised.
    George W. Bush
    March 17, 2003

Well, there is no question that we have evidence and information that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, biological and chemical particularly . . . all this will be made clear in the course of the operation, for whatever duration it takes.
    Ari Fleisher
    March 21, 2003

There is no doubt that the regime of Saddam Hussein possesses weapons of mass destruction. And . . . as this operation continues, those weapons will be identified, found, along with the people who have produced them and who guard them.
    Gen. Tommy Franks
    March 22, 2003

I have no doubt we're going to find big stores of weapons of mass destruction.
Defense Policy Board member Kenneth Adelman
    March 23, 2003

One of our top objectives is to find and destroy the WMD. There are a number of sites.
    Pentagon Spokeswoman Victoria Clark
    March 22, 2003

We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.
    Donald Rumsfeld
    March 30, 2003

Obviously the administration intends to publicize all the weapons of mass destruction U.S. forces find -- and there will be plenty.
    Neocon scholar Robert Kagan
    April 9, 2003

I think you have always heard, and you continue to hear from officials, a measure of high confidence that, indeed, the weapons of mass destruction will be found.
    Ari Fleischer
    April 10, 2003

We are learning more as we interrogate or have discussions with Iraqi scientists and people within the Iraqi structure, that perhaps he destroyed some, perhaps he dispersed some. And so we will find them.
    George W. Bush
    April 24, 2003

There are people who in large measure have information that we need . . . so that we can track down the weapons of mass destruction in that country.
    Donald Rumsfeld
    April 25, 2003

We'll find them. It'll be a matter of time to do so.
    George W. Bush
    May 3, 2003

I'm absolutely sure that there are weapons of mass destruction there and the evidence will be forthcoming. We're just getting it just now.
    Colin Powell

We never believed that we'd just tumble over weapons of mass destruction in that country.
    Donald Rumsfeld

No one disputes the above, you however manage to disregard the contextual and historical fact that Democrats were beating the WMD drum throughout the Clinton administration and the first two years of the Bush administration. Why is that?

    nice

so where is all the quotes made by democrats saying the same dam thing
here I will help you out

    Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, February 5, 2003

If we wait for the danger to become clear, it could be too late.

    Sen. Joseph Biden D-Del., September 4, 2002

Every day Saddam remains in power with chemical weapons, biological weapons, and the development of nuclear weapons is a day of danger for the United States.

    Sen. Joseph Lieberman, D-CT, September 4, 2002

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
    --Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
-Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
Letter to President Bush, Signed by:
-- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), and others, Dec 5, 2001

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
    -- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
    -- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

how many of those democrats stated with absolute certainty that Saddam possessed stockpiles of WMD's?

how many of those democrats said that Saddam's agents and Muhammed Atta had met in Prague prior to 9/11?

how many of those democrats asked Hans Blix to vacate Iraq so that they could start the invasion?

how many of those democrats ordered our troops into battle?

I'll wait for your answers to those questions....

No tap dancing here. You can't even come up with a reason to oppose an ill conceived military invasion without supporting a lie. That's because you are just a blind partisan and have no ability to form your own views.

What worse is that you will Do a 180 and use the same story to support an ill conceived military operation you do support out of partisan reasons.

I have never said that there was any proof whatsoever that WMD's had ever been shipped from Iraq to Syria. You have made that claim... I have merely asked you if you had any proof to back that claim up.... apparently, you don't... but.... you CAN dance, so you have that going for you.
