Racists almost never recognize their own racism or the racism of the people they admire. I notice in your post you imply that it was OK for Trump to refer to immigrants from Mexico (not just illegal immigrants) as rapists, because "Mexico is not a race." Just for the record, here are Trump's words: "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." It was nice of him to "assume" that some people coming from Mexico are good people.

A few days ago he implied that Mexicans are raping the Central American female immigrants, "And yesterday it came out, where this journey coming up, women are being raped at levels nobody's ever seen before. They don't want to mention that.”

Racism is generally defined as hostility to people of a different ethnic group. I don't believe Trump considers himself to be ethnically similar to people from Mexico.

You also didn't address the fact that Trump referred to African nations as s***hole countries. Do you also deny that that was racist?

As to your last two sentences, do you really believe something so outlandish? However, no matter how outlandish your posts, you are completely unable to admit your error when you are shown to be wrong, aren't you?

The only country that INTENTIONALLY dumbs down its citizens more than the US is North Korea. We often talk about superpowers or those with the strongest militarily (weaponry) and I guess the US and China are at the top. But for dumbing down the US comes a very strong number 2 in the world.

Teachers are not causing your social problems. That's a complete lie. I have taught in 4 different countries outside the US, in Western and non-Western countries, with kids who are from those countries and other countries around the world, with administrators and teachers from all over the world. The content of US curriculum and the focus of teachers everywhere is essentially the same as in the US. One of the biggest problems US education has is people like you who blame everything on schools and teachers instead of on the society and its social problems.

 

To understand how religious fundamentalists and Leftist 'anti-racists' think, you have to understand one key thing: they do not distinguish fact from value.

It's a fact that the Earth goes around the Sun, and not the other way around. It's a marker of a people's advancement out of the ignorance of savagery when they understand this, because it's not obvious.

On the other hand, that we should be kind to each other, that we should honor our father and mother, that we should not steal, that we should follow God's will and obey His appointed representatives on Earth ... these are values. (Not necessarily good ones, just values, "shoulds" rather than "is's". )

What religious fundamentalists and Leftists do is to mix these up. Thus when Galileo and others proclaimed that the Church's geo-centric astronomy was factually wrong, the response of the Church was not to confront him with the evidence that made the Church believe in geo-centric cosmology, but to threaten him with torture. In their eyes, he had threatened their values -- and you don't believe in values because of factual reasons, and you don't defend them with counter-evidence.

Similarly, it's extremely easy to determine that the Black violent crime rate is far higher than the white (and that the white is higher than the Asian [in the US], that the male rate is far higher than the female, etc. No serious person disputes these facts. They're easily established -- for instance, consult the FBI Uniform Crime Statistics report -- here.

But to the Leftist, this is an attack on his values -- one of which is that everyone should be treated equally -- and so he responds, within his means, as the Catholic Church responded to those who questioned the facts of geo-centric cosmology. [I say 'within his means' because Leftists in the US don't have total state power, as the Catholic Church did, and as they do in some countries like Cuba or North Korea. But what power they have -- when they can assemble a violent mob -- they use it to suppress views that upset them. Let me qualify this by saying that not all people on the Left do this, and that there are, and certainly were, people on the Right who would behave in exactly the same way if they could. In fact, it's the human norm, if we look at history, one we were evolving away from.]

This is actually an unintelligent response, since everyone not in the grip of ideology knows that they are true. The question of interest is why the Black crime rate is so much higher than the white, and why the Asian is lower, why males are more violent than females.

A primitive answer is just "that's the way they are, they're inherently like that". This is probably the default belief of most people about any ethnic group they don't love. I think academics call it "essentialism". "They're just that way." It's what the X's believe about the Y's: fill in almost any pair of tribes you read about in the news for X and Y: Sunnis and Shias, Tamils and Sinhalese, Irish Protestants and Irish Catholics, etc depressing etc.

A slightly more sophisticated, pseudo-scientific answer is: it's their genes. This is the "Official Racist" answer: it at least has the merit of being subject to investigation.

This post is too long for our sound-bite generation already, so I'll give just one example that should at least call the "it's in their genes" argument into serious question: if you lived on the eastern Coast of Britain a thousand years ago, one of your daily prayers was, "From the fury of the Norsemen, O Lord, deliver us." They were talking about the Vikings: very scary people if you lived within reach of them. But who are the Vikings today? Danes and Norweigans, the nicest people in the world. Did their genes change? Our should we look to changes in their material environment, to explain this change in their behavior?
