Corona is essentially over and everybody's going back to work.

The "new" office will have higher dividers and additional plexiglass between cubicles and desks, and lines on the floor where you can walk, and signs where you can't walk or enter, and the elevators will have 1/10 the head count allowed compared to January, and possibly permanent mask requirements.

But there's another virus out there ten times as communicable as corona and twenty times as deadly just waiting to go on a rampage -- that's the one that requires a whole new protocol of preparation -- because we're not a hunter gatherer society and we cannot stop working -- we have to keep working to survive.

I asked at what number of deaths do posters feel we should have instituted a stay at home order.

So far I have gotten various degrees of projection and deflection with a few cutsie insults and childish remarks thrown in.

Maybe it is just a reading comprehension issue? Or is it an intellect issue? I cannot tell any longer.

No, you're just telling them they shouldn't be able to work

You gonna stay home when you get sick, like a good little distancer, and keep your germs to yourself?

So your whole point is about feelz and not efficacy of implemented measures?

It is a question on opinion so I guess that is a way of phrasing it, a childish way — but sure.

Deflection because I don't care about your feelz, but rather the efficacy of the response?

If you're gonna propose a response to something, you should be able to describe the efficacy of the response, especially when the response results in negative consequences for many millions of individuals.

Hopefully the lesson has been learned that you can't let the sociopaths (almost all of them are sociopaths) out of prison just because there's a pandemic going around and they might die just like the law-abiding might die.

I don't care about your opinion. I care about consequences of actions

Again, I am asking for opinion, it was stated that we shouldn’t have closed for “only” 60k deaths. I asked when the number of deaths became urgent enough requiring a response.

If you are unable or incapable of responding then why bother? Just want to scream at your screen for a bit?

I know — I find it amusing watching them squirm, tripping over themselves to comment and say nothing

    Fascinating stuff

Within one week, the IHME forecast model of 60,000 deaths will be obsolete.

Are you still living in denial?

Doing something stupid just to soothe one's feelings can be ineffectual and harmful

Whether you or I "take something seriously" is abstract silliness.

It has peaked, the hospitals are not overwhelmed, and extending the tail of the curve will do nothing to save lives. Further you cannot demonstrate significant curve flattening or the ability to do so, even if we wanted to

    cd8ed asked for a number.

    You refuse?

Doers that mean that ANY number of deaths is acceptable
