I'm white and have never understood any assertion that Obama tried to divide the races. What made people mad was his identification as being black. He said Trayvon Martin could have been his son. And the right-tighties went freaking nuts. It was stupid beyond belief. And I know righties who still bitch about it. They were only offended because they couldn't accept his ethnicity. Did you know that Rev Wright said "God **** America IF" certain things are allowed. Did you know that the rw media never showed the entire clip so as to hide the real meaning - that he wasn't just saying "God **** America!"? Of course not.
Well, it just looks to me like the identity politics the DP has used divides the races, generally white against black and hispanics. This is so nefarious and unhealthy to create this in our society. The division used to be, between the working and middle class and the elites. The DP represented the working and middle class, of all colors while the GOP represented the elites and their business interests. But this division was not created by the dems with the intent to win elections, but came from a desire of FDR to save capitalism from itself. Today the DP in no way represents the working and middle class, except for the upper middle class. And yet they can get minorities to vote for them. They have kicked the white working class to the curb, and this is well known as well. An article last year was written about this in the New Yorker, hardly a right wing rag. The author, a dem, said the DP figured they no longer needed the white working and middle class vote and could win without it. The author did say though that the DP should represent these people anyways, just for the sake of morality and decency. Yet these people voted in large enough numbers in enough states to win the election for trump, who acted like he would represent them. And what did the dems do? Accused them of being deplorable, and racists. Division, along racial lines, is what the dems did and have done for years. I do not know what it is hard for you to see this.
Add to that a United States of America where manufactured racism is the highest it’s been in decades. Obama was supposed to be the post racial President and he could have been. But he turned out to be a racialist just like Sharpton and Jackson.

Appointed a rabid and incompetent Secretary of State Obamacare a gift to the insurance lobby But it did expand Medicare access Inequality increased during his term Economy improved Made tentative steps towards decriminalizing marijuana, pardoned some people imprisoned for drug use Cashed in after leaving office
So then **** happens? Obama's foreign policy was based on a "We're all in this together and I know you'll all do your part." Unfortunately, that isn't really how it all works. We are still haunted by the Red Line that wasn't and who in the hell can explain Libya except maybe Hillary Clinton since it was her project.
Obama's legacy is "highlighted" by the worst foreign policy blunder since Neville Chamberlain's appeasement strategy with Nazi Germany. Obama's decision to pull all military, intelligence, and governance personnel out of Iraq resulted in ISIS and the resulting global chaos.
Bush's invasion of Iraq resulted in ISIS and global chaos. Obama has his own crimes but Iraq wasn't one of them.
Bush won the war. Iraq was safe and secure. Obama gave it all away making him either incredibly stupid or incredibly corrupt.
You can't rewrite history. The US had no business invading Iraq or any other country. Warmongers have never taken responsibility for the carnage they supported from the safety of their home.
Warmongers? That would be those who don't believe in endlessly turning the other cheek. Islam in it's most militant form, as represented by ISIS, is the bloodiest ideology on the planet and their targets are mainly other Muslims and civilians.
Who is rewriting history. I’m pointing out Obama’s stupidity and/or corruption when he gave away the fledgling Constitutional Republic in Iraq paid for by the blood and treasure of Americans.
Wrong. Everyone was screaming at Obama in 2009 NOT to follow Bush's timeline because it would create ISIS (extremists in general). He didn't listen. Even Bush told Obama he should extend the timeline! EVERYONE knew this and Obama for his own reason, decided not to listen. Was that a crime or just stupidity? Possibly stubbornness.
I know you'll never understand it. Just like I'll never understand why Obama sent white house aids to the funeral of an attempted cop killer.
