But in Europe we've got windmills and Greta Thunberg and, and gay march parades. Who needs oil and food when we've got that?! :) I can see some serious civil disturbances coming this winter if politicians don't start getting their finger out and grow up.

So we'll see how the Europeans will entertain the Russians with a "mild winter".
By the way, I read that Europeans warmed themselves in winter by burning manure. So you can return to your original method of heating.
And at the same time Europeans can try to use manure in the industry. Suddenly help.
In other words, go back to basics. It is not for nothing that European politicians urge Europeans to wash less frequently, as has always been the case in Europe. Remember at least Isabela of Castile or Louis 14, who washed only twice in their lives. Once at birth and the second time before the wedding (Isabella of Castile) or at the insistence of doctors (Louis 14) .... But perfumes spread in Europe. Is not it?

Do not worry. Putin's head is all right. In all senses.
By the way, when, figuratively speaking, the US loses its head, Putin can take its place.

You cannot allow or forbid anything. Russia can do whatever it wants.
In Soviet times, there was the state of Czechoslovakia, now there is no such state.
And only the Russians can return this state.
By the way, the Hungarians already understand who is who. But maybe they are smarter than the Czechs?

We’ve lost the plot and it’s our own fault. The only thing that surprises me is that it took so long for Putin to react. This baiting and provocation should have been stamped on years ago, but doing nothing only emboldened western politicians and NATO. So now this winter we freeze and oil and gas becomes a luxury item for the wealthy. If someone had forecast what is happening now even a year ago they’d have been laughed at as conspiracy theorists.

Nor are they the Sauds and it is the Sauds I was referring to. It isn't Russian jets that will threaten Yemen to keep Houthi terrorists out of Riyadh.

My opinion - Unfortunately, in 1991, when a coup d'etat took place in the USSR and the state criminal and alcoholic Yeltsin usurped power, not only the USSR, but the entire world balance of power was destroyed. Further, the world received the consequences of this destruction.
It is like the fall of the Roman Empire, when the consequences of this led Europe into the wild Middle Ages.
Today we are witnessing the formation of a new order of forces - the redistribution of power and influence. This can certainly lead to a big war, including a nuclear one.
The conditional West does not want to part with hegemony and will provoke conflicts with all its might. (For example, with China. Or there are many places in Europe - Serbia, Basques, Corsica .... Gibraltar, Ruhr .... And that's not even talking about Eastern Europe).
In my opinion, Russia plays a great role in saving mankind from the apocalypse. (Because the only country in the world that can destroy the US is Russia.) And here it depends on the comprehensive measures of the Russians - the military component should show that there will be no winners. At the same time, show it in such a way that the powerful parasites in the EU and the USA understand the reality of the consequences. Diplomatic methods should designate the spheres of interest of certain important states. And economic measures should show that all attempts to resist lead to losses. Losses for the ruling classes (oligarchies) - this is the most painful place.
And at the moment, in my opinion, the Russians are doing a good job with these goals.
I think that if the world avoids a nuclear apocalypse before winter, then mass protests, at least in the EU, will force the ruling classes to seek compromises in politics, the economy and the military component. In other words, a "new Yalta conference" is quite probable. (But there is one minus - You cannot compare the scale of Churchill, De Gaulle, Roosevelt .... with the pygmies of the current governments)

Oh right, the Saudis, you didn't mention that. How did the gunboat diplomavy go down in Iraq and Syria then. Lessons learned?

For real news coverage you should go to my weekly magazine (obvious plug follows). :) This week we've done an extended edition of the war in Ukraine.

They can just ask for the weather to be manipulated. Hot, cold, wet or dry. Just ask the USAF, they've been doing it for years.

It’s apparent now, that the big ,bad bogeyman which we thought was Russia, is no more than a man moving levers behind a curtain.

And that's great. The Russians will look at it with interest.

As we worry ourselves to death about whether men can give birth, or some twitter tweak from a stupefied woke sheep, what we’re seeing now as we commit economic and social suicide is an arrogance that is now coming back to haunt us. Both Russia and China are not going away, their economies aren’t going to collapse, Putin hasn’t got cancer and NATO isn’t going to be allowed to menace Russia with NATO missile bases on its borders. At worst, better we go back to the cold-war doctrine of acknowledging and respecting spheres of influence rather than talk about toppling a nuclear power.

That they will, as they have raised eyebrows over the fires and heatwave in the UK of late.

They failed miserably because they had no objective I could see. That might indeed be a lesson learned.
