All good points my friend. The country is not blue or red. Its purple.

In order for secession to work, they have to do something the Libertarians are doing. The Libertarians are working on a free state project. They voted online which state to move to. Their goal is to move to a low population state and then become the majority there. Originally, they wanted an Libertarian state. After Obama won a second term, they are talking secession.

Conservatives need to imitate the Libertarians. Texas is a lost cause. With all those Hispanics moving there it will be the next California. Conservatives need to pick a state and move in large numbers to that state. For example, say they pick Alaska. There are about 1 million people in Alaska. They already have a secessionist movement. So if they can get a large enough number to move there. Secession is guaranteed.

Can it be done. Of course it can. Just look at Jewish Zionism. After WWII the Jews had enough and decided that they needed their own country. So they moved in mass to Israel. They became the majority and they started their own country.

In order for secession to work, there needs to be a Conservative Zionism. Pick a state, move in mass, serve Washington DC a declaration of independence and get out of the union. The Jews did it, why not conservatives.

It worked with Jews because some people are born Jews, their kids are Jews, they culture is Jewish, there heritage is Jewish. And there were hundreds of thousands of displaced Jews and Jews who were treated as second class citizens to move to Israel.
In order for Conservatism to have the drive Zionism did, there would need to be a Conservative Holocaust, and it's not going to happen.

Conservatism is just a belief that is adopted and just as easily dropped, and it is way down the list of factors influencing important life decisions.

How many conservatives will give up their jobs, to move to Alaska? It ain't gonna happen, there just isn't enough difference between Liberals and Conservatives to split up the country over the difference.

That's what you think because you are not passionate about your political believes.

Americans don't move political reason? It's already happening. Look at the Free State Project

    http://freestateproject.org/

Libertarians are doing it now. Conservatives need to copy the Libertarians.

Libertarians are trying to recruit 20,000 people to pledge to move to New Hampshire.
New Hampshire, which voted for Obama, has a Democratic Governor, only one republican in Congress, so the "Free State" project isn't going to be ready to secede anytime soon.

Realistically, there is no chance that New Hampshire is going to secede from the Union anytime soon.
The numbers of Libertarians actually moving to New Hampshire are minuscule.

I am not saying that they are going to pull it off. There are to few Libertarians in the country.

But there are a lot more Conservatives in this nation. A lot more. Surely you can find 1 million of functional Conservatives.to make a move.

It would have to get real bad for Conservatives to give up on the US. A horrible economy, and/or no hope of winning future election can cause a mass movement.

But, hey, if you make mayor and you are a Democrat, you can sexually harass all the women you want and the most you'll face is a bit of bad press and a few months of therapy. Try that in any other state!

A million Conservatives, who praise individuality and abhor group action, are all going to quit their jobs and move to Alaska, together?

Put the group welfare ahead of their own, selflessly sacrifice their own careers, for the future of others?

An example in recent history is Cuba. Before Fidel declared Cuba a Communist country, Cubans left in droves for Miami. They saw the writing on the wall. They were political refugees. They left their homes, they left their jobs, they left their lives in Cuba for a better life in the US.

At some point American Conservatives will realize that America is headed for European style socialist country like France. At some point they will realize that the country has reached the point of no return and their version of utopia will never be achieved in the US. Cubans left Cuba in droves over politics and economics more to their liking. Where are American Conservatives move in droves to? Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America . . .

The only solution for Conservatives is to pick a state, move there and secede. Otherwise they should just sit down, shut up and let the Democrats run the country for the next 50 to 100 yrs. Because frankly, the Democrats are going to be running this country for a long time to come.

Unless the Republicans learn how to pull their collective heads out of their own rectums and deal with Hispanics as fellow American citizens by finding a mutually satisfactory solution to the immigration issue, they will not only lose Texas, but many other states as well.

Hispanics are very conservative in many ways, but treating them like second class citizens will further isolate the Republicans.

    Really? Cuba?
Isn't that just a little over the top?

I don't know what to tell you. You keep saying in this thread that it's impossible for a mass migration of people. And I keep giving you example after example of migration. I gave you the Jews. I gave you the Cuban. The Mormons left the east coast for Utah.

I am done with this thread. History is full of mass migrations for political and economic reason. You don't want to believe it, that's your choice.

And you consider ObamaCare the equivalent of the Holocaust, or the Cuban Revolution or the Persecution of the Mormons?
Maybe it will be the other way? Maybe it will be like the "Trail of Tears", Maybe the Liberals will round up the Conservatives and put them on a reservation....

Unlikely since most are afraid to leave the cities and/or coasts. The "fly-over states", not to mention actual rural areas scare them. Didn't you ever see "My Cousin Vinnie"?
