Actually, they appear with a red shift. That is how we know they are moving away from us.

Some objects might be moving away from us but countless others are moving toward us. There's not just one answer but many.

I think that you may have a somewhat limited understanding of optical dynamics and gravitational effects, as well as the incredible size of our universe.

"Some ASSUME"? You mean leading scientists? You don't think they're familiar with Astrophysics and the properties of gravity and light? Do you really think they've never heard of Einstein?

How does that change the idea that, when we ALL "see" the same experimental results, we have uncovered a truthful idea about the singular Reality we all live inside?

The center of attention focused on the fact that galaxies were moving away from us FASTER than the speed of light.
They discovered this by measuring the Red light bands which explain speed here.

This would violate Einstein's premise that no matter can move that fast.
So, they concluded that the fast moving galaxies also added on the speed by which an expanding universe was growing.
The conclusion was that the universe is growing between us and the other galaxies enough to account for these results.

In other words, the fabric of space is growing from nothing which moves the items in it farther apart except for those that are moving closer together. Sounds legit. Of course there's no evidence of that happening here in our own solar system.

Considering you're made of Godstuff, I see no point to this thread or your existence.

Actually, he is made of "Star Stuff"...just like the rest of us, kittens, roses, rocks, and everything else that MATTERs.

And where does MATTER come from? Vacuum fluctuations? And where do vacuum fluctuations come from?

Stop playing "Athiest of the gaps".

I don't think you know what the god of the gaps argument even is, considering you just completely failed at reversing it.

The theory likens the Universe to balloon which is growing larger and larger.
On the balloon, spots were drawn to represent each galaxy.
Those spots move away from one another as the balloon grows bigger.

This is the Space idea, growing, as represented by the balloon.

Matter comes from energy, which has been transformed into Matter.

    E = mC^2

True. All part of our Universe. Are you saying this is true outside our Universe?

Do you have an opinion on the multiverse theory?

So the points that get closer and collide must be part of the other space idea!

The points that get closer are draw by mutual gravitational attraction. We're due to collide with the Andromeda galaxy in five billion years. That has nothing to do with the fact the Universe is expanding.

FWIW; stars are so far apart in the galaxies that the chance of a collision between actual stars when the galaxies merge is infinitesimal.

The point remains that the universe can intelligently... by our human reasoning,... be understood pretty well.
Hence, "the universe does seem designed to me."

Humans evolved to understand the universe. This argument is like a puddle thinking the pothole around it was designed for it because it fits perfectly.

Isn't the Natural Law saying exactly that,...?

"Man must adapt to the ever evolving Reality or become extinct."

If man did not fit perfectly with the facts of Reality, he would be a dinosaur now.
