The US should consider reparations to African-American descendants of slavery

Mine too. My grandmother was an indentured servant. There were boatloads of young Irish people who came to America under contract to work for, usually, seven years. However the masters often found reasons to keep them longer than the seven years. Most of these young Irish people were rounded up for vagrancy, and instead of serving jail time, were ushered aboard the coffin ships. It was the Irish slave-trade business, and no one acknowledges it. We can't. It is politically incorrect to suggest that the black experience in young America was not that much different than anybody else's. Everyone worked hard, and suffered.

PS: My grandmother was a smart woman, and died wealthy.

 

Leftists can give reparations now. Just reach into your own pockets and give the nearest black person your money and tell them "here this is for you for being black"

Yeah if it were the White boys who had been mistreated, kidnapped, enslaved, murdered and raped they would have had their reparations long ago. I always thought that African-Americans were under a greater oppression than the White colonialist endured during the revolutionary war under George III.

not direct, but we have programs specifically for black people for college, jobs and other areas where they are simply pushed to the front of the line because they are black. In many situations, the amount of black people that are employed is much more important than the quality of the employee no matter what color they may be.

You guys got fund raisers like Jesse Jackson, Al shaprton, NAACP and...... oh damn wait a minute, I forgot those people and groups are just entities that generate millions, for themselves, and complain yall aint got reparations lmao. You guys are giving away your reparations.

 

Seriously? Slavery happened ages ago and does not affect anyone alive today personally. So get over it.

Nor will reparations do anything to ease the structural oppression of ethnic minorities. If anything, it will single them out and exacerbate the problem.

 

Japanese Americans were paid reparations after they were directly wronged by the US government. We're not talking about people who's great grandparents were wronged by other American's great grand parents.

Its your argument not mine. You said you were clean, oh ok, so is everyone else if that is your criteria. To everyone else....reparations are over. All you have to do is claim you are clean like Bump did and that is all the proof you need.
Also, how does it work for Obama? does he pay half? or does he get a payment then need to make one in the same amount? Tell us how the financials of this racist money grab scheme works.
