    It isn't a vaccine in that true vaccines are created from the virus itself and provides greater protection since it has all of the virus markers. Genetically manipulating your cells to create only one of the spike proteins is far less effective. The experimental treatment does not create immune memory like contracting the virus does and why you now see suggestions of a booster.
