'The worst briefing I've had': Senate Iran briefing gets heated

It's high enough, this guy is responsible for the deaths of thousands including hundreds of Americans and it is on going and would have continued. They had already shot rockets at the base last month, then they attacked our embassy, then the attack that killed one of the Americans serving over there.

Convince me this general had given up his ways, there would be no more attacks, he would dismantle his extensive terrorist network. Where do you even come up with that premise to your argument?

 

Mike Lee is an isolationist along with Rand Paul.

 

Presumably, they feel capable of debating the subject and resent being told by the briefers that criticism of the President will only help the terrorists, thus making it impossible to fight terrorism and maintain free speech simultaneously.

 

And, they obviously have been fooled into thinking Trump was one as well.

 

And he was attacking us last month and ratcheting it up and the head Mullah after the embassy attack aimed at Trump and announced publicly "see you can't do anything about Solemani and his attacks on you". Well we can. He's gone, it's a great thing. What little bluster Iran came up with was an empty gesture and they backed down, that's a good thing. If he had not had this epiphany then his next attack was imminent.

 

Trump ratcheted it back.

Somebody convinced that Unprepared Amateurish IMBECILE that it was a good idea to back down.

 

I don't think he backed down. The Iranians gave warning and lead time and I think that's a first for them. They got their revenge for their public persona and they know how things work in the future.

 

Hilarious. Rand Paul and Mike Lee are libertarians. They are opposed to any action against a foreign power and are now advocating for Iran as are all the Democrats with the exception of Joe Manchin. Paul and Lee are also responsible for ObamaCare not being replaced by the solid plan put together by Paul Ryan and Tom Price.

 

Paul and Lee are absolute isolationist, I pay them no mind. Convince me Solemani had ceased future attacks. Just last month the rocket attack on Ain Assad, the attack on our embassy, and the attack that killed the American were his last attacks that he had given it all up. Else his next one was imminent.

This was a save face rocket attack by the Iranians who warned us before they launched and deliberately missed US forces. Their rockets are bad but not that bad. Trump communicated with them that he would not invade and was not interested in regime change but was interested in negotiating a nuclear deal. Iran then launched a faux attack which the Democrats are flummoxed by. It's hilarious.

 

It was successful. It's a given that the Democrats and Libertarians would be against any military action by Trump.

 

NOTHING they could say would have the Democrats saying anything other than they were against it.

I don't think it is so much the act itself as it is the way it was accomplished, primarily on the soil of an ally, without giving them notice or asking for their permission, as well as not consulting with our other allies, who also had troops on the ground in Iraq, of course and the U.S. Congress.

Not at all. They are just tired of every president and congress ignoring the constitution or trying to work outside it.
