And that means what So glad to see you recognize that mass shootings continue to happen. Next, put on your big boy pants and try to imagine a solution.
Always amazing that the gun advocates on the forum are unable to present one single idea to deal with the fact that America's gun death rate is the highest in the developed world. Maybe they are just nihilists in disguise.
Basically? That's not going to help, you cant put genie back in the bottle, pandoras box is emptied, yadda yadda yadda
Proof that Maduro doesn't have control over Venezuela? Do I also need to post proof that oceans exist?
Well I can certainly accept that the the gun lobby believes that gun deaths are a small price to pay for sales profits.
Actually it is exactly what you said. Or would you care to elucidate about " putting the genie back in the bottle"
There are more than 300m firearms in US circulation. You can make them from common materials, with hand tools as a benighted peasant in Pakistan much less someone with access to power tools and Google and a hardware store, plans are everywhere etc. You're never going to be able to disarm the us population. Guns aren't going away. When you ban things people retain them, sell them on the black market etc. IE genie is not going back in the bottle .
Do you tell complete strangers your social security number and bank routing number, simply because you do not believe anything bad will happen if such knowledge is made available to them?
That anyone in the world can produce a functioning firearm, without specialized training, education, or elusive tools. There are no solutions to be had. Not simply no easy solutions, but rather no solutions whatsoever. It is not different from the fact that there are diseases in the world for which there are neither cures nor even treatments. For whatever reason, humans as a species are obsessed with killing themselves off in the largest numbers possible, and have based their societies and developments around this obsession. Every modern development and advancement has been in some way dedicated to the furthering of their desire to kill themselves with greater efficiency. Mass killings are nothing more than a symptom of that very nature of the human species. The only way to truly put an end to mass killings is an extinction-level event that wipes out every last human in existence. Once there are no more humans, there will be no more mass killings.
Ban Home Depot! "In Darra, customers can choose from an amazing abundance of low-price goods -- with no questions asked. Darra's gunsmiths say they can produce an exact copy of any gun in a matter of days. In addition to the array of automatic weapons on display, local officials say, Darra's merchants also sell cannons, antiaircraft guns and grenades. A few U.S.-made Stinger missiles, sent to help the mujaheddin fight the Soviets, are said to be still available here to the discreet buyer." WASHINGTON POST, Kevin Sullivan, “Pakistanis Arming the World's Guerrillas,” , 7/9/98, p A01.
The disease analogy is pretty lame since progress is continuously being made in developing methods and drugs to treat diseases. Think about cancer treatment thirty years ago versus today as an easily understood example. Or take aids as another.
Claiming any responsible group wants to disarm the population is nothing more than a very smelly red herring. The objective of gun laws is to reduce gun deaths not disarm the population.
