And the article you quoted most assuredly did mention a specific type of worker. I can think of no better way to destroy a country than to insist that everyone should be able to live a middle class lifestyle with out having bothered to learn the skills to do so.
Until you have a heart attack the the EMT helping you out was the guy flipping your burger the day before.
Better yet reduce teen pregnancy - look at the people holding those part time jobs - they are often single moms
Yes and no as those are rare exceptions. The vast majority will be affected by and fall into external expectations
he is right, he should have been paid more then $15 an hour, EMT's deserve more than that - has nothing to do with the min wage though, he was just under paid republicans want greedy corps to be able to underpay people, the left wants a higher min wage, to limit how low the corps can go
What are 'rare exceptions'? Kids who don't do super well at school, and kids who do well at school? Is this a joke, BB?
No it was addressing your post from an educational psychology standpoint look up “self fulfilling prophecy”
But he would have to. Who’s going to take on manager jobs with all the extra responsibilities when a bag boy is making just as much? It throws the whole system out of whack or just raises everyone artificially at the expense of everyone. You can’t stop human nature. It’s why Communism and Socialism ALWAYS fail. It’s counter productive to reality.
Beside the point. If it was working, there would be less complaints that welfare is insufficient, and less homelessness. Both the aforementioned states are self-inflicted (mental health, whatever), and they keep happening because the causes of those states are not being addressed. For the system to work it would have to address the causes, and it doesn't. Ergo it's not working.
That has nothing to do with education, though. That's family dynamics stuff, and the family dynamics have to be right for a child to benefit from education. A school can do very little when the foundation work at home hasn't been and won't be done.
No it is about student teacher interaction and is one of the more powerful reasons children of colour often do worse in school lots and loypts of research backing that
I will settle for you acknowledging you accused me of doing saying something I didn’t say. How is it every small business in my state wasn’t most assuredly crippled when the minimum wage was increased to $12.75?
I wouldn’t talk much about “basic math” Someone that thinks negative 4 million is a landslide for trump... To the actual math and metrics of the success of these programs it largely depends on their implementation.
The research doesn't show that, at all. It shows only that environment is everything, race is nothing. Correlation is not causation. Even then, anything a teacher does is miniscule in comparison to what's being done or not done in the home. It's a very bad substitute, and should absolutely not be the focus if we're serious about helping kids get ahead. Meantime - case in point as to the research, children of colour in this country almost always do better than white children, regardless of economic status. That puts the kybosh on the bad science, emphatically.
Extensively. And I've compared many peoples and cultures, instead of a single and very very narrow comprehension of the root causes.
A bit of cross thread drama, oh my! And here you told me I was on ignore! Andrew Gillum, he who would have been Fl Governor, he the famous one of shame, found passed out in his vomit in a seedy motel room, with a male prostitute and meth....He also wanted 15$ an hour COMBINED with a 40% corporate tax increase. Many of those who voted for this, voted for that. And it aint over until it's over.
I unmuted the three I had to unfortunately block for constant... creative arguments. Seeing that I have hundreds of posts to show how “math” or “prediction” arguments are flawed it will be a great 12 years! No, they voted for staggered minimum wage increases to get back to where the metric was when it was implemented. Minimum wage should be a living wage. Even Florida agrees. The landslide? That’s over.
The article was posted by someone else. And I never mentioned ANY specific type of worker. Stop being disingenuous. Again, the economy in my state wasn't crippled when minimum wage increased to $12.75. And btw...my argument isn't about supporting the increase in minimum wage. It's about refuting all these claims the economy is going to tank.
