Leftists can’t imagine Biden being worse than Trump, because, I believe, they are totalitarian by nature.
Work at home is a big help but it's only 4.7 million out of 164.6 million workers. It will be interesting after Covid to see if this ratio changes? One thing I dislike about EV's is their high costs to the average worker. I know all major automobile manufacturers are growing this part of their business but it doesn't seem to resonate much with average people...I guess baby-steps over the long haul. Regarding our rail system, during Covid prices are cheaper but will increase again as they are bleeding money. It's always a problem when voters are asked/allowed to decide on public works programs, for example, all the naysayers will demand a train system to pay for itself. In education, lots of voters won't allocate another nickel towards education.
whoops, I meant Biden, lol, Trump did exactly that Biden has not hired his family to run the Presidency or him
Tax refunds and lowest taxes are not funding? I have to keep that in mind when Democrats go off on firms getting tax refunds.
My grandson lives at home and works there for Facebook. I hear he may go in 2 times a week. He drives his Tesla. I bet he loves the speed most. Due to the staggering sum of money Facebook paid him, even when he was in college, the cost of the car is piddleing to him.
Payments to the Corn industry, payments to the windmill industry and staggering benefits to the solar industry is not the Feds investing in all?
You said "Wind turbines were only there due to government funding. Same with the other things." This is not true? Most investment is in the private sector and public utility. Perhaps you would like to quantify your comments?
I never said the government does not provide incentives...I said the primary investors in alternative energy are the private sector and the public utilities. Again, would you like to quantify your comments?
I should have been clearer - I misrepresented you concerning "all travel". And, I apologize for that misrepresentation. I don't believe all of ANY category of travel can be eliminated or even SHOULD be eliminated. That probably led to my misrepresentation. Even if one skates over the fact that today's families are spread far and wide, I see real value in Americans being exposed to other cultures around the world. The abject hatred Americans have for various places on Earth is something that is hugely negative for America. It even pushes us toward ignoring some of the very foundational principles of our nation. When Americans visit those places, they can help address that hate. I could be quite happy if all the cruise ships in the world went away, though - lol!
Corporations do OUR bidding. And OUR individual lives are as WE design them. All of this stuff is 100% down to us.
1) We have full control (and knowledge) over our OWN choices, and that is the ultimate power for change. It all starts - and ends - with us. 2) We control the state of the rivers in every little choice we make daily. It's absolutely a function of OUR choices. 3) Exactly. 4) Exactly. All any of us can do is change our OWN ways, and thus become the solution instead of the problem.
I mean any MOVEMENT which is non-essential. If you're not commuting, hauling freight, or purchasing essential supplies, your movement is recreational and therefore 'travel'.
Absolutely. Is this a growing trend or just a short term abnormality? it will be iteresting. True again. The upfront cost of a new electric car is not cheap. I think this will change for several reasons: competition; economies of scale and startup costs being defrayed; improving technology/manufacturing; the existence of used electric vehicles that have major remaining life. Our roads bleed money, too. Requiring one system to pay for itself while others don't have to is pure political BS. Yes, our funding of education could not be more broken. And, that is especially bad today, as the jobs with good pay continue to move toward sectors that require much more than high school. The segments of agriculture and manufacturing are NOT going to power our standard of living or maintain economic competitiveness with the rest of the world - like they did in our fairly recent past.
Good plan. The more of us who refuse to go to Disneyland, the sooner the planet will cop a break. Meantime, I sure hope you don't think of yourself as a climate warrior or greenie .. because insisting that Disneyland is a human right does not jibe with that in any way, shape, or form.
All bandaids. What are these 'activist' INDIVIDUALS doing about their own bad habits? The very habits which cause all of those bandaids to be necessary?
China relations? not sure really... Ivanka meets with China on white house business, they give her Trademarks as a gift? "Ivanka Trump Wins China Trademarks, Then Her Father Vows to Save ZTE" https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/28/business/ivanka-trump-china-trademarks.html "six days before the ZTE announcement, China said it approved five of Ms. Trump's trademarks, according to data from China's trademark office."
