Don't lay the blame on teachers because "children who really did not show up at school." It's true that sex ed cannot be effective for children who don't show up at school.

Why don't the FACTS give you pause? Theist based "abstinence only" sex education has been an abysmal failure when it comes to stopping teen sex and pregnancies. Fact based sex education has effectively reduced teen sex and pregnancies. Why berate teachers who are reducing the need for abortions? Shouldn't you be offering to pay them better salaries for doing such a good job?

Your evidence proves that we need BETTER comprehensive sex education and we need to encourage teachers to overcome their personal biases (e.g. prudish personality). The fact that some students are poor learners does not justify keeping the vast majority of students in ignorance. Everything you have told us about your experience in school begs for better, and more comprehensive, sex education.

Look, you and i are from two different eras. I grew up in the era where teachers taught us to respect the girls. The teachers did not need to explain sex to us. We were students, there to learn things like history, science, english, math and other things. Girls were not there for we boys to seduce nor for the girls to seduce us. I saw the radical change upon the introduction of the birth control pill. Girls went from protecting themselves to telling guys they needed sex. I think all girls really wanted was attention. Girls have grown up believing that the attention that is best comes from the male. Girls show it in myriad ways. From the way they dress, to the tramp stamps they have put onto their bodies, etc. I grew up with 2 sisters living with us. I learned by age 12 I had an older sister living with family. They took her in and kept her up to her age of 14 i guess. She coached me on what girls want. She told me at the high school, girls had special signals. She claimed the girls understood them. Some as I recall involved colored ribbons. But other than her, no other high school girl coached me. I am sincere when I tell you this. I do not believe you were alive when we had abstinence teaching. I grew up with such teaching. Frankly, boys loved to brag back then. To them, the bragging boys, girls were there to have sex with. But even during high school, I simply never had contact with such boys. I ran into them after graduating and after buying a new car. Sure once we got out of high school, we heard of boys having sex. I think i was still a freshman in high school when we were told to show up for a meeting. There teachers lectured us all on not having sex. We were told about religion too and why in general it is often bad to mix two religions when selecting girls or them selecting boys. Abstinence was such a good idea that in my four years of high school, where we had over 4,000 students, I never at any time saw a pregnant teen at the school. I would say it worked pretty well back in my day.

Furthermore teens became pregnant too for the same reason. Simply because you never saw any pregnant girls wasn't because no teens were having sex. You didn't see it because it was hushed up by the parents and the teachers and the girls either had back alley abortions or they disappeared for a couple of months and the infant was put up for adoption. Your drivel about how society has changed is irrelevant as to the frequency of teen sex and pregnancy. Teens have sex and get pregnant. It happened while you were growing up and unless you were involved you didn't know squat about it but it still happened. Today comprehensive sex education reduces the incidence of teen sex and pregnancies. Those are documented FACTS. I know that you are allergic to FACTS but that doesn't alter the REALITY that sex ed reduces teen pregnancies.

Since my days in high school were from 1952 to 1956, I believe I am pretty accurate on just about all the then high schools. I expect you to make something up and claim I said it. Look, I am certain some of the girls did get pregnant. But i know what I saw at high school. Believe me that if the girls walked around pregnant, my buddies would have very quickly made it apparent to me and the other boys.
