The country is destroyed?
But the market is up. I'm pretty sure if the country were destroyed the market would go down.
If you didn't watch or read the news you wouldn't know anything was different with this country. Unless you accidentally walked by one of those anti Trump protest marches where they vandalize local businesses.
Oh maybe you're right, the country is being destroyed, literally, by intolerant anti Trump vandals.

You are aware that China has a long history of making clothes? No jobs were exported. And Trump is talking about a fairer trade deal that will make his imports more expensive too.

And now for the truth:

The inspector general for the Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday that the agency should have issued an emergency order to protect residents of Flint, Mich., from lead-tainted water seven months before it actually did.

The watchdog found that the EPA had “the authority and sufficient information” to force state officials to fix the city’s escalating water problems in June 2015. But the EPA did not issue its emergency order until Jan. 21, long after it became clear that those state officials’ failure to properly treat the water had left the entire city — including thousands of children — exposed to elevated levels of lead.

In response to your hysterical and panic-filled predictions -- the over-arching logic is that just because we have ways and means it does not follow that any good will come out of it. It does not guarantee that the individuals at the top of those agencies are competent or that they will exercise good judgment.

So many people are fooled by a word or a title or a name. Actions and deliverables speak louder than names and words.

Americans acted when they elected Trump. He is carrying out the will of the people. We all know Trump's forte is not words - but he is a man of action and so far, it looks like he is actually DOING WHAT HE PROMISED!

That's some deep thinking there. Not so sure I have the confidence in humanity to truly step up to that lofty plate you are serving up there. For all the great things you can say about the human race, disappointment is high up on the list . I truly wish we could turn the corner

Estimates are guesses, not hard data. Furthermore a billionaire can easily build a factory in the US-which assumes that there are no textile factories with spare capacity which could be utilised. There are no excuses for double standards.

What are you talking about? Of course those jobs could have been created in the US, but Mr,Cheapskate Hypocrite with his lies and double standards wants minimal overhead for maximum profit as all businesses would prefer. However it would help his credibility immensely if he actually practised what he preaches. No excuses.

Sorry but I have to take issue here; Trump has threatened Iran and China so far, NATO troop deployments in Eastern Europe are increasing monthly at his behest, and I suggest that the 'stability and security' of, not only the US but Europe has been thus compromised. You also mentioned something about privilege-a category which both he and his billionaire, elite, cabinet are long-standing members of. Only the accents are different; the swamp doesn't smell any better.

So, Mr. Snakepuller, you would rather have no one run a business? My Great Grand Father came from the Isle of Wight in the 1800's , to better his life in America...stowed away on a ship (14 years of age)....and he became a wealthy young man...you know why?...because he wanted his own business...and his blood flows in my veins....guess what?.. I am also a businessman...and I support a businessman running our nation.....my business has a great future for the next 8 years...Tell me, what is your future?

If this is a Pokemon Go game... you'd be right. Right now, tomorrow. Just make it happen.

Building factories, or retooling factories, or sourcing the cotton and wool, or the existence of all the other subcontractors that contribute to any product is a process. That process has drained away from our economy and takes time to replace. It is so completely silly to think that a billionaire can wave a wand and make it happen.

Think it through!

Now we see how virtual reality has seriously disabled users' ability to understand the physical world.

You don't listen to good apparently....Just because something has historically been made in another country does not mean those jobs were 'exported.'

Insisting that we watch our environment, protecting our water, good, air, etc from the many clear problems that occur regularly is not a sign of panic.

It is a sign of being a responsible adult.

No kidding. He was literally begging for "easy" questions from "friendly" reporters in his last press conference, then he followed it up with a safe space meeting in Florida. This is just sad.

What I expect, is several things not just top down..

bottom up, hopefully more of a push for domestic and local products, buy american support american kind of thing, maybe gradually working back away from big box and into smaller/local retailers. sligthly more likely to visit big bob's appliances vs going to hhgreg or lowes, the local hardware store, etc... we actually look at the tags to find out where something was made. A little national pride would go a long way, 30-40-50 million can move a lot of product if we actually make an effort.

top down, better trade deals and that's not parrot talk, we really are at a disadvantage in so many ways but detailed trade talk should take place in another thread.

As an example: I'm an ebay seller its shocking what UK customers pay for import/vat (turns $200 into $300 pretty quick) and yet when I order crap from the UK it just shows up, bada bing...

duly noted, this was 45 seconds on google....so I won't stand by this.
import charges on mini cooper from uk to usa 2.5%
Ford F150 from usa to uk 30%

If those examples are correct...and its multiplied by thousands daily.
How is it possible that its not drawing down the usa's ability to compete internationally?

But yes, re-tooling can happen IF the demand is there, there will be no increase in domestic manufacturing unless we step up to the plate as domestic buyers, but we also need our international buyers to purchase competitively or reduce their competitiveness here.

We all insist that. Where is the order to corrupt air quality or dirty water that you are so reactionary against.

The EPA already works under numerous restrictions that are statutory, practical, budgetary, and staffing.

For example, their charter limited their response to Flint.

And, their enforcement is worse than anemic.

Even so, Trump's incoming choice has been dedicated to opposing the EPA on all fronts.

So far he's only had enough time to lift some of the rocks up so everyone can see the bugs hiding underneath.

At least you're being honest. Trump and his supporters really don't care about unifying the country, nor do they care about America. They care about themselves and that's it. So go ahead and continue your belief that other Americans "don't matter," it worked so well for those guys in the 1860s.

I couldn't possibly disagree more.

The left is trying so hard to keep us from unifying the country its embarrassing. Ev1 on the left needs to take a chill pill if they love America, if not feel free to spread the hate, lose votes, crash & burn, all this hate is only supported by haters, the rest of us roll our eyes at the hypocrisy and will not forget in 2018/2020 when we get to vote again.

That's an odd view given that the right spent the last eight years fomenting fear and hate toward the sitting president, accusing him of everything from being a foreigner to being a secret Muslim and worse. After eight years of seeding such dissension, fear, and hatred, do you really think Trump is the guy to bring people together? He's not even pretending any more, why are you?

lets try this...

is THIS WOMAN trying to bring us together?

Are the idiot protesters blocking the roads pretending?

Are the idiot protesters blocking people from getting on flights pretending?

the left isn't trying to pretend anymore, why are you?

When the left gets off their stupid hypercritical soap box and shuts the F up, then we can talk, until then, screw em' and I will go out of my way to use whatever influence I have to make sure they get minimal support in 2018 as well.

Seriously? Last time I checked that lady wasn't running for public office.

So people protest because they're idiots, not because the people in power have somehow taken advantage or otherwise oppressed them? In general, public protests have a long history in America of giving a voice to the minority view. But apparently to you they're just "idiots."

I don't really care about the left, I'm a conservative who's repulsed by Trump and the whackjobs that took over the Republican party. I used to be marginalized by one major party, now I'm marginalized by both. Conservatives are barely represented in this government anymore.

You have exactly upended reality. Back sometime in the 80's our elite decided the lower half of our population didn't matter, and has been operating that way ever since, impervious to any input from the red-lined population.

In almost every post in here by our side, people attempt to convey this to the rest of you, but you're still not listening--and, to add insult to injury, you are attacking our legally elected representative in every manner, fair or unfair, that is conceivable.

You have lived by the Big Lie for so long, some of you are incapable of seeing the truth--even if bellowed out by someone like Trump. For the rest of you...if there were a Hell, you should all be in it already...and maybe you are.
