TN: Tyre Nichols was 'defenseless' during his 'savage' beating by police, attorneys say

Ashli Babbitt got what she deserved, and many others were lucky they didn't meet the same.

The videos have now been released. I have seen two different body cams, at the initial, and final stages of the incident, as well as a fixed camera surviellance camera video, from the middle. It is clear the Nichols WAS initially doing his best to comply with police instructions, and NOT fighting back, as officers continued to rough him up, and threaten him. It is also clear that it was this, inexcusable treatment, which led to Nichols' running-- not to escape the law, but out of completely justifiable, fear for his personal safety. Though not resisting arrest, Tyre was being treated as if he were.

In the second and third clips, the officers actually lift him off the ground and hold him up, so that other officers can attack him with punches, and a baton. While he was down, with his 140 lb frame, clearly under control by two officers, another was delivering unnecessary kicks to him. No one who supports the rule of law, can offer justifications, for what we can now see. IOW, to defend this, would be highly corrosive of anyone's reputation, as being an advocate of lawful police practices.

Nonsense. We can all see the video. Her head hit the ground no more than a couple feet from the cop up front. He was kneeled down next to her within seconds of hitting the ground.
