Lefties would rather eat the rich, rather than help the poor.

The power of marxism compels them.

    And? Captain obvious being obvious.

Let’s have the bottom 20% pay 80% of the taxes?

If you honestly believe that and ignore the wealth and power structure in America you have been living with your head in the sand.

They make more than their fair share of money too. All thanks to this nation. They could pay 100 percent of income tax and still be deliriously richer than the average American.

    Cry me a ****ing river.

Obvious? It's not obvious the the alt-left.

That's why I posted this so to enlighten all those on the left who constantly say the rich don't pay their fair share.

Just the opposite. The bottom 50% of income earners only contribute about 4% to the Federal income tax burden.

How can one make more than their fair share?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    Liberal math 101.

Tax one's income at 100% and they have money left over.

    LMFAO!

Have you ever looked in depth at who's on welfare? Your statement leads me to believe that you are blinded by the fake news alt right talking points.

Take some.time and really study it before making such a ridiculous stereotype. I don't have time to teach you out of believing the lies your being fed.

Lol conservative dope logic rearing it’s goofy looking head again.

First he suggests you can pay more than your fair share of taxes but not make more than your fair share of money. Can’t have it both ways genius.

Then he gets all confuzzled about the different between the rich paying 100 percent income tax and the rich paying 100 percent of the income tax collected each year.

There there. I’m sure Betsy DeVos will make sure you get a fabulous education.

The people with more money pay more taxes isn't obvious? Pretty sure it's literally one of the most obvious things in the world. By the way, the top 20% of America includes households making over $110,000, which certainly isn't the ultra wealthy.

Its not hard to figure out -

The top 20% receive 52% of all income, and pay 87% of all income taxes.
Therefore the bottom 80% receive 48% of all income, and pay 13% of all income taxes.

And the third aspect - The bottom 60% receive 27% of income and pay no income tax.

The system is horribly out of balance. Its not going to survive much longer.

Yeah... you may want to re-read his post if you didn't understand he meant 100% of our currently income tax revenue, not 100% of their income. No wonder you think that the rich paying more in taxes doesn't make any sense, you can hardly read.

How about we look at something that actually matters, what % of their total incomes they actually pay into the system? Because the fact that they pay the most doesn't really show if they're being unfairly burdened.

    Of course not, that's ridiculous.

Have everyone pay 10% of their income to the federal govt as income tax, no deductions or credits or favors. Perfectly fair, simple, almost no way to manipulate such a simple system.

What part, in your view, is horribly out of balance? Is it the part where the top 20% earn 52% of the income?

"Blinded by the fake news alt right talking points"? So says you, someone blinded by liberal propaganda. LOL. Take your own advice and educate yourself, or there is nothing for us to discuss here.

I'm pretty "conservative" when it comes to welfare, but a "rightwinger" or a Republican, I'm not. But I'm a firm believer in hard work and personal responsibility (funny how those traits make some leftists here assume I'm "alt right".)

Welfare is a cancer. As is wealth envy.

I don't buy what that chart shows because it does not take into account one of the favorite of all tax dodges -- that of having an owner of a company merely being paid a salary by that company, or a subsidiary, or a partnership, or whatever. With that kind of setup (which is common among the really wealthy), income can be sheltered and shielded behind all kinds of different 'investments', 'positions', partnerships, corporate 'identities', and other labyrinthine methods for avoiding having to actually pay taxes as individuals, based on what an individual actually earns in a given period of time.... And the writeoffs? Calculating those keep tax attorneys and their accountants busy for weeks this time of the year....
