Sooooo, starting to check this list off.....

Germany just surpassed Russia in the total case rankings and will soon exceed 18,000,000 cases on the way to exceeding 19,000,000 by the end of the week.

2022-03-016: South Korea just set a new daily +case record by going over +400,000 in a single day (+400,575) and is one of only four nations on Earth to reach this mark to-date, after the USA, India and France.

Yesterday, 2022-03-015, for the first time in a number of weeks, France suddenly shot up over +100,000 daily cases, a sure sign that a 2nd Omikron wave is rising very fast in Europe.

Little itty-bitty Reunion, pop. 906,000, registered just over +8,500 cases yesterday, 2022-03-015 and now has 318,000 total cases, which represents more than 35% of its population.

Likewise, Martinique, pop. 375,000, registered +9,960 cases and is now at 136,000 cases, which also represents more than 35% of that island's population.

    UPDATE
So, checking off this list some more.

Yesterday, 2022-03-016, India went over 43,000,000 total confirmed C19 cases, as projected would happen

This is big news: after having scored over +400,000 cases in one day yesterday, 2022-03-016, South Korea just scored over +600,000 in one day today, 2022-03-017:

    2022-03-017 Südkorea über plus 600.000.png

South Korea has already surpassed 6,000,000, 7,000,000 AND 8,000,000 total C19 cases (well past my projection), it will surely top 9,000,000 cases by Saturday and may even join the 10-million club on Sunday. Having exceeded +621,328 cases in one day, which BTW is 1.2% of it's entire population and by far the largest percentual haul for any nation on the planet thus far, SK joins only the USA as one of two nations to have ever posted more than +600,000 fresh infections in one day.

Germany has already surpassed Russia in the rankings, as projected would happen.

Lithuania is only -19,669 away from the million mark, but it has already reported in for today. Lithuania will likely crack the million-barrier on Monday, but it could possibly be as early as Sunday. Singapore is now only -24,393 away from the million-mark but has not reported in yet for today. Yesterday, it reported +11,278 cases and the day before (Tuesday) it reported only +4,892, so it's hard to know if Singapore will land at the million-mark on Saturday or Sunday, but it is looking more than likely that it will be within this week. Hong Kong, which was at only 52,000 cases less than one month ago, is now only -24,788 away from the million mark, it has travelled 900,000 cases in less than four weeks time, which is why I included it in the tracking back then. Yes, you read that right. Here are the current totals for the nations directly under the 1,000,000-mark:

    2022-03-017 countries directly under 1,000,000.png

Yesterday, Hong Kong scored +29,272 cases and the day before, it was +27,765.
Hong Kong, Singapore and Lithuania are going to be the 57th, 58th and 59th nations on earth to jump the million-fence, with Hong Kong most likely getting there today, Singapore probably on Sunday and Lithuania on Monday. Forget Nepal, that one is going to take a while.

South Africa now stands at 99,767 total deaths, -233 away from the gruesome 100,000 death marker.

The USA now stands at 994,739 total deaths, -5,261 away from the horrifying 1,000,000 death marker. It does appear that deaths are slowing down in the USA but all this will do will maybe pushing the inevitable into next week.

If South Korea is a harbinger of things to come, then this may well mean that the 2nd Omikron wave will be far more brutal than the 1st one was.

The UK just broke into the 20-million Club, is the 5th nation on Earth to do so; it is currently at 20,001,627 total confirmed C19-cases.

Germany will follows suit in the coming week.

This is where we stood worldwide at the end of CW-10, 2022-03-013:

and here again the excel data for CW-10 worldwide:

The daily average for CW-10 was: +1,700,794 C19 cases per day.

Here the data from yesterday, Thursday, 2022-03-017, four days later:

2022-03-017 WorldOmeter worldwide (excerpt) by plus cases.png

    465,974,714 - 458,529,314 = +7,445,400 over four days

7,445,400 / 4 = +1,861,350 cases per day on the average of four days, somewhat higher than the +1,700,794 C19 cases per day from CW-10.

If we remain on this course, then we will end the week (CW-11) with +13,029,450 cases, landing at 471,558,764. It definitely looks as if we are going to land at between 471,000,000 and 472,000,000 cases worldwide.

We are well on track to having added +200,000,000 new cases during Q1 of 2022 over the end figure from EOY 2021, keeping us on track to definitely crack the billion-barrier by the end of this year.

Yesterday, Germany set a new record and came in at just under +300,000 new Covid-19 cases. It also exceeded 18,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases yesterday. I already wrote about South Korea scoring over +600,000 cases and that nation also went over 8,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases. Vietnam also set a new milestone yesterday, exceeding 7,000,000 total Covid-19 cases. And as already written, the UK joined the 20-million club yesterday.

In the million-club, three nations are in the waiting, with Hong Kong having landed at 996,862 total confirmed C19 cases, just over -3,000 away from that marker. HK will most definitely soar over the 1,000,000-mark today, Friday, 2022-03-018.

Singapore landed at 986,320 cases yesterday and is still very much on track to join the million club one day later, on Saturday, 2022-03-019.

Lithuania has already reporting in today, 2022-03-018, with 984,980 total cases and is moving at between +4,500-+5,000 per day, keeping it directly on course to exceed the million mark next Monday, 2022-03-021.

Only, this is very untrue, aka, false information, aka propaganda.

anti-viral medicine was NOT ignored, it has been used all along ever since the wild variant started. Only, some of the possible therapeutics that Trump liked and was just so sure would work were ineffective, whereas others were and still are effective. I mean, anti-virals in the form of a cocktail saved his life at the beginning of October, 2020.

Also, there can never be enough vaccination research, that is the A and O of killing epidemics.

Tamaflu covers the flu, but it is absolutely worthless against every single strain of Covid-19. That has been proven over and over and over again.

I will call out every single untruth being told here on this thread.

HONG KONG EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2022-03-018, 57th "NATION" TO DO SO

Yesterday, on Friday, 2022-03-018, Hong Kong exceeded the 1,000,000-mark

    2022-03-018 Hong Kong exceeds 1,000,0000 total C19 cases - closeup.png

The values for Hong Kong are final. I screenshotted the first two complete pages of the WorldOMeter table as it has been a while since we have taken a daily look. Two birds, one stone, you know.

2022-03-018 Worldwide 001 - total cases (Hong Kong exceeds 1,000,000).png 2022-03-018 Worldwide 002 - total cases (Hong Kong exceeds 1,000,000).png

Because Hong Kong did not go over 1,000,000 cases on a Sunday, there is no excel table screenshot that is complete yet, but here the excel table through week 10 (last week), just so that you can see the massive growth in cases in HK since the New Year began:

    2022-03-018 Hong Kong exceeds 1,000,0000 total C19 cases - excel table (incomplete).png

Even without the data from today (2022-03-019) and tomorrow (2022-03-020), Hong Kong has already jumped +310,067 cases over the week before, making for a current 5-day average of +62,013 cases per day, almost double that of the week before. If Hong Kong maintains this pace tomorrow and Sunday, then it should easily land over 1.1 million total cases at the end of CW-11, but the statistics tend to slow down some at the weekend. Wait and see.

As you can see, this will mean that once the dust is settled for this week, Hong Kong's cases will have grown almost NINETY-FOLD in the first 11 weeks of this year. Now, the USA got to it's first 1,000,000 from it's first 10,000 quicker (from 2020-03-011 to 2020-03-027, 26 days time), but that first 1,000,000 in the USA represented only 0.3% of the USA's total population, while Hong Kong's first 1,000,000 represents 13.4% of it's population! The USA first reached 13.4% of the equivalent of it's population (44,220,000 cases) on 2021-09-029, 1 year and almost 7 months into the pandemic. You can confirm that information HERE.

The millions-club table will be updated after Singapore also joins the million-club today, 2022-03-019.

Finally, if you are asking why I put the word nation in quotation marks in the title to this posting, it's because Hong Kong is hard to define. You may want to check this out:

    Hong Kong - Wikipedia

    SAR = special administrative region.

Officially, this would mean that China itself went over 1,000,000 cases now, but China is deliberately separating the statistics from the People's Republic of (communist) China from those of Hong Kong, which still does enjoy some autonomy. Therefore, I will count it as a nation, which is what the western World most definitely wants to do.

With Hong Kong's entrance into the million-club, that makes for the 17th nation that has crossed over the million mark in 2022 and the 57th overall. The first 42 nations crossed over that line in 2020-2021. Just for a point of comparison, it took the entire year 2020 to get to the first 18 nations over the million mark and now within just a little more than the first two months of 2022, we have already added 17 such nations.

SINGAPORE EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2022-03-018, 58th NATION TO DO SO

Today, Saturday, 2022-03-019, Singapore exceeded the 1,000,000-mark:

Because Singapore did not go over 1,000,000 cases on a Sunday, there is no excel table screenshot.

Here the millions-club table in updated form:

With Singapore's entrance into the million-club, that makes for the 18th nation that has crossed over the million mark in 2022 and the 58th overall. Ok, I have viewed The New York Times COVID map of hot spots (Covid in the U.S.: Latest Maps, Case and Death Counts - The New York Times (nytimes.com))

I'm going to call it now. We are about to get another wave of Coronavirus infections in the coming weeks here in the USA. The trend lines are going up and the spread of the second wave of 2022 is already in progress. I've watched as the development occurred over the last day or so and the counties and states are changing color towards an indication that the number of infections is growing again.

Yup! We thought we could go maskless in public as the trends indicated that Coronavirus infections were going down. But, we just fooled ourselves again and closed the window, and missed the chance to actually end the pandemic.

It's going to be a hot spring.

FOR THE OTHER MAJOR RUBRIK CHANGES DURING THIS TIME, SEE RUBRIK TABLE BELOW

    -----------------------------------------
    [IMG]

The 11th full week of 2022 showed the Omikron subvariant B2 forming a new wave across many nations in our world. See: top-80 tables. However, the increase in worldwide +cases over the week before was less than anticipated, indicating a possible aggregate plateau in the making.

    Here the rubrik worksheet:

The history excerpt for the week:

The trend area of the top-80 table shows trends for two consecutive weeks. Green shading = a reduction of some sort over the CW before. Red shading = a surge of come sort over the CW before. No shading = status unchanged.

First, sorted by total cases, in descending order:

    Then, sorted by +cases / +avg cases:

You can see that in this last week, 3 nations added more than +1,000,000 cases to their count and those same 3 nations added more than +200,000 cases per day (in both cases, in the week before and the week before that, it was also 3). The top three +case getters were South Korea, Vietnam and Germany - in the same order as in CW-10, but the difference in the +case growth rates is just astounding. Note the extreme dropoff in Tunisia. Breakdown in their recording system, perhaps?

Here the same 80-nation list, sorted by growth rate:

Worldwide, the growth-rate in +cases increased very slightly to +2.67% (it was +2.60% the week before), with Chile tracking the worldwide growth rate the closest (rank 21). 4 nations had over 10% growth rate (one week ago, it was 5 such nations), with Hong Kong, South Korea, New Zealand and Vietnam vastly outstripping the rest of the nations in growth rate. You see the high concentration of growth rates in East Asia and Southeast Asia.

    And here, by trend:

We ended CW-11 with 10 nations at a plateau with 9 of those plateaus indicating a trend toward surge compared to the week before.

21 nations are still surging forward (last week it was 22) but 49 nations show the +cases receding (last week it was 52).

    ICELAND

As of yesterday, Monday, 2022-03-021, Iceland reached this number of total C19 cases:

2022-03-021 Iceland now over 50 percent of the population infected.png

173,796 may not appear to be an impressive number, but in relation to the total population of this very cold, separated-from-the-rest-of-the world country (345,041), the total number of C19 cases represents 50.4% of the total population of that country and so Iceland will go into the history books as the very first nation to go over the 50% mark in cases relative to it's population.

I cannot overemphasize how hard it is to reach Iceland. There are very few ports and not many planes fly there relative to most spedition hubs in the world. If there are THIS many cases relative to the total population of Iceland, which has also tested on the par of 5.4 times its population (similar to the UK, to note), then imagine how many C19 cases are going undetected in nations that are not really seriously testing, for instance, in Egypt.

Two things that I prognosticated would happen last week did not happen, but we are looking at the delay of the inevitable, here. Neither the USA reached 1,000,000 total C19 deaths, nor with South Africa reach 100,000 total such deaths.

However, right now, at this very moment:

2022-03-022 usa and south africa will go over next death mark.png

The USA is now only 1,160 away from the million-mark in deaths, while South Africa is now only 110 away from 100,000 deaths. The USA just ended last week, CW-11, with a daily average of +1,128 per day, while South Africa ended the week with +22 per day on the average. So, yeah, two gruesome milestones for these two nations will sadly be reached within this week, CW-12, shortly before EOQ1 of 2022.

    Following up:

    .
As of this morning my time in Europe, the USA is now only -208 away from reaching the million-mark in total Covid-19 deaths and will 100% for sure reach that mark by the end of this day, 2022-03-023. I will probably be working when this happens, so I will make note of this a number of hours after it happens.

South Africa is now -107 away from a total of 100,000 such deaths, but the death rate is (thankfully) really slowing down there.

Also, on this day, 2022-03-023, just a couple of hours ago, South Korea just entered the 10,000,000 club. Since South Korea entered the million-club on Sunday, 2022-02-006, it took that country only 45 days to get from 1,000,000 to 10,000,000. For the sake of comparison, the USA went over the 1,000,000 mark on Monday, 2020-04-027 and then closed the deal on the ten-millon club on Friday, 2020-11-006, which is just under 100 days time. As you can see, South Korea's ascent is far steeper and far faster than was the case with the USA in 2020.

Yesterday, Germany broke over the 19,000,000 mark and will surely join the 20,000,000-club before month's end.

And finally, Lithuania is almost 100% likely to join the million-club today, I am expecting the data in the next minutes.

LITHUANIA EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2022-03-023, 59th NATION TO DO SO

Today, Wednesday, 2022-03-023, Lithuania exceeded the 1,000,000-mark:

    2022-03-023 Lithuania goes over 1,000,000 total C19 cases - worldometer table closeup.png

    2022-03-023 Lithuania goes over 1,000,000 total C19 cases - worldometer table.png

The Lithuanian values are final. The current total cases value represents 37.7% of the total population of Lithuania.

Because Lithuania did not go over 1,000,000 cases on a Sunday, there is no excel table screenshot.

Here the millions-club table in updated form:

    2022-03-023 Lithuania goes over 1,000,000 total C19 cases - millions table.png

With Lithuania's entrance into the million-club, that makes for the 17th nation that has crossed over the million mark in 2022 and the 59th overall. The first 42 nations crossed over that line in 2020-2021. Just for a point of comparison, it took the entire year 2020 to get to the first 18 nations over the million mark and now within just a little more than the first two months of 2022, we have already added 17 such nations.

    Life comes at us fast.

In the WorldOMeter table that I screenshotted in the posting about this one above concerning Lithuania joining the million club, note that I also highlighted Finland, which is currently at rank 68, with 821,256 cases.

Just to get a good overview of what is happening in Finland:

    2022-03-023 Finland excel table.png

Finland ended last week with 786,312 cases and clocked in with an average of 7,436 cases per day.

Now, three days later: 821,536 - 786,312 = 35,224 / 3 = +11,741 cases per day. Now, that is somewhat misleading as Finland provides no data on Saturdays or Sundays, but still, it looks very much as if the averaging is moving back up again and I suspect that Finland will be at about +8,800 to +9,000 per day on the average as of the end of this week. In two days, we will know for sure.

    But with simple math:

1,000,000 - 821,536 = 178,464 cases left to go to break the million mark. 178,464 / 8,800 = 20.3 days = 21 days so at this rate, today in 3 weeks, Finland will join the million club in the middle of April, 2022.

This is the reason why I started tracking nations like Finland early, right after the beginning of the New Year.

If a person hasn't had any shots, can they just take the most recent one, or should they take all four shots?
