More of the Trumpian impulsivity, chaotic and unpredictable "management" style. Which is as dysfunctional as it can get.

It is almost an attention seeking tactic as opposed to trying to make appropriate ,fair and constructive mutual decisions.

The more he vacsilates the more attention is focussed on Trump.......and he pathologically CRAVES attention. He operates from a position of narcissism & Buffoonery .........as opposed to facts , logic and good sense. (reason)

Whew lots of newly registered never Trumper opinions I see! Welcome welcome.. I would say you wouldn't have much company but.. You'll find many.

OK as to the OP there is more to see here than meets the eye. China has been peeing on our leg and telling us it's raining about their mammoth trade deficit for decades... Also NK.. NK stood up some of our officials for pre nogotiating that Summit... And China controls NK. Believe it.

So can we stop with the leftist knee jerk propaganda opinions Ffs?

I support the President on this. We are the strongest country on the planet economically and militarily for now and we need to secure alot of our trade leaks. In Chinas case it's a flood

Trump campaigned on taking on the trade with china. So no one should be surprised. At least on this issue he is keeping his promises.

No one is saying that China is without fault in these relationships. Before someone goes into the narrow pro.........anti Trump mindset ........ it might be important to consider HOW Trump is mishandling so much of the situations he involves himself in.

It is one thing to do things differently, creatively, etc........but itis quite another to do things using c haos as a working premise , with SELFISH narcsissim as the basis of decisions. Everything he does and says in his crude and tactless manner is about HIM............There is onlyh ONE person that maters to him.........

He is destroying American image, and influence ........but if that is acceptable to the population of the US........that is their choice.. But when he is destroying valuable relationships with the rest of the world.........that is quite another matter. His isolationist ideas and policies can easily backfire.........and as someone said......it is the americans that will pay for it. That does not cover the angst it casuses world wide.

Sadly........ he is running things like a cult. It was important to be objective and give him a chance to see how he would grow into the role........... and now he has shown his true colors as far as "leadership" goes.

An aside: What kind of world leader would insert himself into something as petty as the Roseanne Barr drama?? That Is really low.......and just another example of his self centered ( ME . ME , what about ME ) personna that is intertwined into all his comments and decisions. His five year old level tweets are embarrassing to hear about .

Back to the trad issue: (and regrets for digressing for a bit ...;-)

U.S.-Europe ties strained by Trumps trade war, online privacy disputes

Keeping his commitments is one thing........... HOW he is doing it is quite another. Effective trade deals benefit BOTH parties....and requires a degree of fairness , tact and even compromise.

When we run perpetual trade deficits with china, which would have been unacceptable at one time, then clearly china is eating our lunch. At least unlike other presidents, the globalists, the slave labor boys, trump aims to do something about it. But our politicians have not minded running deficits for a few people are getting richer, and that is all that matters. We call this globalism. And it is a scheme to create greater income disparity and it is working out great!

You know, these memes and dog whistles get a bit old.

Can't the NT's come up with something original?

Perhaps it's the marching orders and talking points that need reworking, so the messaging just keeps repeating itself.

If the objective is persuading the undecided, it's a total failure.

Access to the US market should come at a price, and China, along with other countries haven't been willing to step up to the plate.

Negotiating isn't for the faint of heart, so perhaps some shouldn't think they have enough of one to judge what is going on.

And right behind China, comes NAFTA.

Trudeau state that Canada would rather no deal than a bad deal. Yep winning trade wars is "easy". So far only thing Trump has demonstrated he find "easy| is unilaterally breaking deals. Boy that takes "art".

Yes...... THE ART of DEAL BREAKING.."........... There must be a long list now of the deals he broke or removed the USA from now.

    Chaos theory in action.

Kinda raises the question of who wants to deal with him. He is too mercurial. (unpredictable. unstable)

(HE cannot be TRUSTED )...and that is sad.

tariff just bad idea, its Tax on consumer, and China surely will retaliate against US export to China. what Trump should do is get our allies together on IP issues in China, but of course he piss up EU/Canada/Mexico pretty much everyone, so no one want to work with him.

any economist will tell we have trade deficits with many country. the fact is we spend more, we earn more, and we save less. China per cap is 1/6 of US income, its save about 35%-50% of its income, furthermore we don't have that much goods to sell to china compare what they export to US. Other than energy, agriculture, and airplane etc, what else we can sell to china. That's where the trade unbalance come from. you are just naïve to think these day china use slave labor boys, median blue collar worker in china income is $800, which are better earn/living cost ratio than US.

So, those chinese workers in our MNCs are middle class? No. And you know it. The middle class in china comes from business owners, not factory workers. Touche.

Why put up nets to keep those satisfied chinese from committing suicide in MNC factories? Did we have to do that in america? ha ha ha

And why would the chinese that can afford it buy our consumer goods, when they are making most of those goods? To send over here? ha ha. Do you think they are making much of their own consumption, as we once did? Of course they are.

If you want to continue to let china take our jobs and steal our intellectual property until we are nothing but a third world country dependent on China for everything go ahead, I don't.

The 25% tarrifs you fear won't happen because china knows other countries will quickly step in to fill the gap created. All of Asia is chomping at the bit to get into the American market and if china plays hardball they will lose market share fast and furious.
