With respect to the subject incident in Mexico I can't help but recall the historically based movie "The Wind and the Lion." In this movie a Berber Sharif in Morocco kidnaps an American woman and demands a ransom payment. Teddy Roosevelt then calls a Cabinet meets to discuss the appropriate response. After getting input on what to do he makes a single statement - "The fleet sails tomorrow." Warships and Marines are then sent to Morocco. That is how Teddy R. handled things back in the day.

It should be noted that iIn the movie the kidnapped woman is played by Candice Bergen. In actuality, the individual kidnapped was a man who as it later turned out was possibly not an American citizen.

hmmm, illegal guns enter mexico? did i hear you correctly, you stated that illegal guns are being shipped there, correct? if they're already illegal, what would banning them do, they'll still be manufactured somewhere by someone, and end up in the hands of criminals because that's what criminals do, they ignore the law...

Typical story.....America’s thirst for money at the expense of Mexico.

I love this. It's as though liberals really think that a semi automatic rifle, AR15 or otherwise, is going to make a single bit of difference when the cartels are using grenades, full auto rifles and rocket launchers against the Mexican forces. And beating them. Are you suggesting that the cartel's supply of full auto rifles, grenades and rocket launchers are located within the US?

    Really?

Not since Colorado legalized recreational weed. Now the cartels have already turned to meth.

That doesn't even come close man. Those guys got busted, as they should have, and before they sent any parts over the border. That doesn't address the grenades and fully automatic firearms, or the rocket launchers. Even had these guys had not been busted, 6 mini guns aren't going to defeat the Mexican Military.

Can you not read? I said there is a problem, but the drug dealers do not have nearly the power and influence here as they do in Mexico.

I did. Only inherently lazy people would not fight back against drug cartels with so much control in their country.

Yeah, because those pharmaceutical companies are slaughtering families and conquering towns.

Look, I agree that big pharma is powerful and corrupt, but this **** going on in mexico is a whole other level of evil. There is no comparison.

Ha ha. The dealers are the drug companies. They get them hooked. Then the street dealers take over.... drug addicts start with prescription drugs. We have a bigger problem then Mexico.

It's a tough deal. The Cartel's recently defeated the Mexican Army when they tried to arrest El Chappo's son. They defeated the troops and started slaughtering their families while demanding El Chappo's son be released. The troops finally released him.

I'm not convinced that Mexican Troops can handle the cartels, certainly they would have a better chance if we could shut off the flow of American Cash and Weapons to the Cartels. Probably the most effective thing we can do is secure our border.

    No worries.

Trump is going to continue his ONGOING POLICY of taking kickbacks from the Cartels (to keep the drugs flowing smoothly).

The drug cartel, is too well armed through American efforts. We supply 90% of their weapons. It’s like drug lords are using American military hardware. Pus, drug lords, like the nra, have no empathy for innocent civilians.

Once again I must restrain myself. You are full of crap with nothing to back up your claim the NRA supports illegal gun trafficking so for that reason you join my special list.

Oooooo. You’re in my special list too.....just another internet tough guy, among many. The nra is a criminal organization, as unscrupulous as any crime syndicate.
