This lie you believe about Obama, like many lies you believe about him, accounts for why your views on Obama are so misguided.

I want ISIS chased and killed and kept from occupying territory and resources just as Trump has done and is doing and as Obama failed to do.

    Ahem:

"At least 41 people have been killed in an Isis suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan, the latest in a series of attacks on media organisations. Sayed Abbas Hussaini, a journalist at the agency that was targeted, said there appeared to have been more than one explosion. He said one reporter was killed and two were wounded. TV images showed the devastation at the site, which also houses a Shia cultural centre."

Currently 400,000 Syrians are under siege by Assad's forces... and the negotiations are about whether or not Assad will permit 7 children with cancer be treated.

Syria is a horror.. and Assad is still in power.

It's not like I expected you to write, "Hey, I was wrong, thanks for pointing it out" though your reply does exemplify how facts don't influence your beliefs.

Anti-ISIS Coalition to Intensify Efforts, John Kerry Says

    https://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/03/world/europe/john-kerry-isis-threat.html

ROME — Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that members of the American-led coalition fighting the Islamic State had agreed at a meeting here to intensify their efforts to defeat the group, but he ruled out sending United States forces to intervene in Libya, where the Sunni extremists are pressing to claim territory.

The United States and 22 other nations agreed to “a very specific schedule” for backing the formation of a national unity government in Libya, Mr. Kerry said, and discussed contributions that would be needed from each nation to stabilize Iraq and address the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

“Every single country there agreed that each of us has to do more in order to more rapidly and completely defeat Daesh,” Mr. Kerry told reporters as he wrapped up a day of meetings in Rome devoted to planning the next stages of the battle against the group, using an Arabic acronym to refer to it.

Yes they are still a terrorist group but they no longer have a military, they no longer occupy territory and resources to finance terror.

    ISIS on the Run
    [IMG]
    By Robin Wright

    October 17, 2016

Wearing the military uniform of Iraq’s élite counterterrorism force, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi abruptly appeared on Iraqi national television in the early hours of Monday morning. “The time of victory has come, and operations to liberate Mosul have started,” he announced. The long-anticipated battle against the Islamic State—also known as isis, isil, or Daesh—for control of the strategic city was under way at last.

isis reconfigured Iraq’s borders in 2014, when it seized about a third of the country and declared its own Islamic caliphate. Now the battle is on to win back the territory. “Today, I declare the start of these victorious operations to free you from the violence and terrorism of Daesh,” Abadi said.

The announcement came just hours after isis lost Dabiq, a northern village of just over three thousand people in neighboring Syria. For two years, the Islamic State boasted that Dabiq was where Armageddon would play out in an apocalyptic battle with infidel forces from the West. The claim was based on Islamic prophecies from the seventh century. Despite its size, Dabiq has huge symbolic significance: it was a centerpiece of isis propaganda. In November, 2014, the British militant Mohammed Emwazi (Jihadi John) beheaded the American aid worker Peter Kassig there. In a video of the beheading, a narrator announced, “Here we are burying the first American crusader in Dabiq, eagerly waiting for the remainder of your armies to arrive.”

The loss of Dabiq, in Syria, and the launching of the largest offensive ever conducted against isis, in Iraq, led Obama Administration officials to predict that isis is finally being broken. “This is more than just the latest military result against this barbaric group,” Defense Secretary Ash Carter said in a statement. “The group carried out unspeakable atrocities in Dabiq, named its English-language magazine after the town and claimed it would be the site of a final victory for the so-called caliphate. Instead its liberation gives the campaign to deliver isil a lasting defeat new momentum in Syria.”

isis forces fled Dabiq when Syrian rebels, backed by Turkey and reportedly advised by U.S. Special Forces, pushed into the village, a senior Obama Administration official told me. “isil barely put up a fight,” he said. “They ran away, confronted with overwhelming force.”

Trump has the attention span of a gnat... Has he acknowledged that his "victory" over ISIS just shifted them into Afghanistan?

Of course Obama called them JV.. He was insulting them and not willing to make them important. Look pal.. Muslims hate ISIS.. Terrorists are a problem for all Muslims... and it doesn't matter whether they are in Palestine of Syria or Afghanistan or Libya.

The way I remember it is it was brought to the publics attention that Obama was not bombing these trucks and then he kind of was forced to from public opinion and even then he gave warning with leaflets. That's not how you fight and win a war and that's why we were losing it under Obama.

Trump's Secret Plan To Defeat ISIS Is The Exact Same Plan Obama Had

Apparently, former President Barack Obama’s strategy to take out ISIS leaders is working so well that U.S. Special Forces are running out of targets to kill. And President Donald Trump, who claimed during the campaign to have a secret plan to defeat ISIS, still isn’t happy.

More on that in a moment.

The good news is that there fewer so-called high-value terrorists to kill now than in 2016. Some 50 ISIS operatives have been killed in the last six months, compared to 80 during the last six months of the Obama administration.

A U.S. coalition spokesperson told The Daily Beast their approach hasn’t changed under Trump, though the current White House has upped the number of air strikes. Under Obama, there were around 440 strikes per month. Under Trump, that number is around 800.

The issue for the White House now is that it doesn’t have a lot of high-value ISIS targets to kill—because Obama’s strategy is actually working. That’s a very good thing. And you’d think a sensible leader would think, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” right?

Well, Trump is not a sensible person.

U.S. officials told The Daily Beast that Trump wants to “rebrand” his ISIS approach so that it doesn’t mirror Obama’s.

    No, I am not joking:

The senior administration official described Trump’s plan as “relying even more” on special operations working together with local partner forces. “But that’s nuanced, like most of the suggested changes” and doesn’t easily translate to a talking point, he said. That could help explain why Trump has twice missed his own deadline for unveiling the new anti-ISIS strategy.

Unfortunately hate alone can't defeat ISIS and they were on the road to having a caliphate with Obama in charge. Trump policies routed them and they are on the run.

It's quite possible you remember it that way (even though that isn't what you originally said) for the same reason you believed he wasn't bombing the trucks at all........you were mislead by the lies of right wing media.

You leave out the other half of Trump's plan which was letting battlefield commander's fight the fight instead of him fighting it from the oval office and air support in engagements with iraq forces and changing rules of engagement.

It's the way it happened and the story that Obama wasn't bombing oil trucks was real, that's how it got started. Once again why didn't he bomb the wells too?

That is ludicrous Trump propaganda from the White House website. Trump was never in the military. Trump knows nothing about the military. To compensate for this severe weakness on the part of the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces the White House came up with the ludicrous idea that Trump turned the whole military over to local commanders.

That is ridiculous. The Pentagon is still under civilian control, Marine general, Jim Mattis. His generals don't do a thing without his approval. Trump simply turned the entire military over to Mattis, not local commanders.

If Mattis needs any help or advice, he can turn to General John Kelly, Trump's chief of staff, or General H.R. McMaster, all civilians now.

American troops are not in the fight against ISIS, other than air support. Our troops are merely trainers and advisors. The Iraqi army, Syrian rebels, and the Kurds are doing the fighting, not Americans. How aggressive can you get as trainers and advisors? This is pure nonsense, and this kind of stupidity could only come from Trump himself.

When the people who were actually in charge of tracking and locating OBL, finally found him, 0bama's only responsible for not saying "no" when they asked him if they were given the green light.

ISIS was only in Iraq because of 0bama's political motivation to keep his campaign pledge. It was 0bama who prematurely pulled out all US troops from Iraq and leave it defenseless. It was 0bama who was once again responsible for his refusal to allow the US military to attack ISIS. It was 0bama who sat back as ISIS went unopposed and murdered and enslaved tens of thousands of women and little girls and selling them into sexual slavery.

Trump knows as much about the military as Obama.

Mattis knows more than enough for the both of them.

Unfortunately, Obama never listened to his military counsel and in turn, was arming terrorists in Syria.

Good thing Trump came to office to put a stop to Obama's inadvertent arming of Al Qaeda and ISIS.

WTH? Umm. Yes, the President has no military background. Just like Obama. So rather than micromanage, as the previous President did, President Trump left it to the Military to do what was necessary to achieve the objective. That is a summary of the direct testimony of the military in country.

You're denial and delusion on this fact is amusing.

In other words leading from behind so any miscues can be blamed on the military commanders.
