There came a point where the shutdowns became just as dangerous as Covid. If people couldn't work then they couldn't get payed. If they didn't have money then they couldn't afford to go to the store. If they couldn't go to the stores then those businesses don't make money and close down and the wheel only grows larger. It was a rock and a hard place scenario but something needed to be done. However some governors went after any business that was "non essential" and threatened them with legal action. Of course our economy is going to tank when things like that happen.

 

I'm not pretending Trump did a great job, but their are plenty of governors who are doing harm too. And I don't care if the governor is republican or democrat, a bad job is a bad job.

The entire world got a taste of how bad it is. Most of the world had to shut down in some capacity. And many are having to do it a 2nd time right now.

Are you saying our hospitals and Coroners frauded the fed gov't with inflated cases of the virus deaths? Risking fines, jail, and their reputation over the virus?
Most of the world inflated their death numbers also? Why would the world inflate their numbers? Why would USA doctors, hospitals, and coroners risk their reputations and possible jail time by frauding the gov't?

The country is reacting to the leadership of the country. Divisive and hateful. Our neighbors as enemies. That is the rhetoric from the top of the country. And the country is now taking on that characteristic.

 

Governors are leaders of their state. Have they lost control of some people in their state, yes they have.
But if you're suggesting 50 governors are all pushing divisive and hateful rhetoric to the public everyday so they can have unrest in their States, go ahead and prove it.

It's the fringes of people, the militias, white supremacists, anti-gov'ts, all taking on what is seen as a voice to violence. Your average person isn't out their protesting, much less rioting and shooting people.

I know I haven't nor do I know anyone who has. Have you?

 

Local and State gov'ts are not experts in dealing with a pandemic or national crises. Nor should they be.
We had/have a team at the fed level who's sole job is being prepared for National Emergencies. Be they by war, weather, or disease. They are the one's to be prepared and to layout a plan for the country to follow.
Not have 50 different reactions to a crisis. Competing for all the same materials and resources. That will only add to the problem and lead to chaos. Which we do have in the country.

Yesterday, we were told that the microscopic virus droplets can hover in the air for HOURS, and spread out in the air from an infected person more than 20 feet -- which completely contradicts the whole "6-feet social distancing" protocol.
