The House has passed it. Trump is ready to sign and end the shutdown. Will Schumer prolong the shut down? Only time can tell.

I'm generally against wallowing in the mud with Democrats. When they go low I say go high, like Michelle Obama.

Schumer will suspend the filibuster if he ever gets a democrat majority again

McConnel needs to do it now

Meh, to each their own. Trump does well on the immigration issue, he should take the Democrat obstruction to the election.

It's not the filibuster. It's the "super majority" rule. They need at least 60 votes to pass it, and even many Republicans are loath to change it, because in the words of at least Republican, changing that rule "would make us no better than the House".

Changing that rule will likely become the rallying cry for universal healthcare, comprehensive immigration reform and a balanced budget, everything the GOP loaths.

If in 2020, the Democrats were to take the Senate, I suppose that's possible.

Not only possible, but absolute. With a simple majority, funding for everything including a revamped budget, HC and reform would be put in the table for discussing the first day in office,

Democrats will change the rule the next time they are in power anyway

We might as well get some benefit out of changing it now

Uh huh. They're dishonest people intent upon enriching themselves at our expense while the freebooter in the White House is a former crook diligently working for thee and me. :roflol:
