    Trump trying to reverse the election by legal means was only postponing the inevitable; him trying to stay in power by other means. (All legal options having failed.)

    When will the lesson be learned? Trump is NOT a President, never wanted to be one, never acted like one.
    Nor should we take him for one

    Trump only ever ran for office to try and sell his rigged election lie to the American people. All for the purpose of gaining totalitarian power.
    Having failed that a criminal will do what a criminal always does when caught in the act of a crime and about to face the consequences; resist the inevitable.

    I don't wanna go to jail!
    I will not surrender!
    I still have hostages!!

    In order of desperation.

    Trump is a criminal and criminals will defend their freedom by ALL means necessary.

    For they are not free to consider the alternative...

    This is exactly the progression that is expected for Trump seeking to stay in power by ANY means. First, it was law suits to overturn the election. Next, he tried to strongarm election officials and governors to select Trump electors instead of the ones chosen by the people. Once that didn't work, he picked his own fake electors, which he is trying to get congress to use instead of the real electors.

    This next step is just completely expected. Either use martial law to stay in power, or stage an insurrection with his supporters marching to DC armed to show their force. He's already calling for it.

    Trump has been preparing his fans for his defeat for months.

    Doesn't he claim that if he lost, it would be because the election would be rigged?

    Trump is doing everything possible at this time to trample on the Constitution, and if there were enough generals to follow him in establishing martial law, he would do so without hesitation.

    Exactly. I have said it before: Trump would wipe his behind with the constitution, if it would serve his purpose. Sadly, his followers are behind him all the way. They SHOULD be outraged that martial law to stay in power is even discussed in the WH. But, no, they just continue cheering him on. They are too far down the rabbit hole....

    Seems on many ocaisions Trump has listened to his advisors and if the story is true it seems he listened again. Does that sound like a dictator to you?

    He has talked about it, so has Flynn and a few others, but that would be illegal. Can't wait for the yahoo to leave, he is beyond an embarressment.

    Ignorant post indicating you do not understand how things work in presidential administrations. Just because something is "discussed" in a meeting does NOT mean that it is under the least bit of serious consideration. President Truman would openly ruminate out loud about using atomic bombs on the Chinese and Soviets but that doesn't mean he ever came remotely close to ordering that.

    His advisors, as well as the GOP House members and Senators, have never given him advice he didn't want to hear. They have "humored" him for far too long. They should be ashamed of themselves. It's about time they stand up to the wannabe dictator. Even his advisors know the repercussions of declaring martial law, and they want no part of it. Even for them, Trump has gone too far.

    Absolutely Trump is desperate to remain in power, even if he could do so by inciting anarchy.
    He is not gonna leave the White House without a last stand. (As I mentioned earlier.)

    But at the same time...
    I sense he doesn't want to be seen as the instigator of such an insurrection.

    THAT kind of treason against the state will put him in jail for life.
    Or so his advisors (including melting Rudy) must have told him. So yes, Trump listened to that advise. You bet he did!

    And he has been careful, until now, being blunt about what he really wants.
    Because calling for a nation-wide uprising on Twitter will be the evidence that convicts him in court...

    This has been Trump's dilemma for a long time, even before the election.
    In fact, Trump never wanted the 2020 election. He would have much preferred to suspend it and enjoy whatever constitutional crisis and chaos might have ensued from that.


    Trump wants to open the door of civil unrest.
    But without being seen to turn the key.

    If he can figure out how...
