Does that report include a detailed brain scan and psychological profile of Un that confirms your claim that he thinks he is a god?

Not all threats are equal or equally valid. There is no way North Korea is going to nuke anyone except as a retaliatory strike.

So you agree you aren't smart enough to figure out how he uses that with his people.

The only thing that matters is Lil Kim acting on his threats. That which he has shown he will do.

Oh is that what he told you. Were you in Rodmans entourage when he visited Lil Kim.

I’m smart enough to understand that state propaganda doesn’t tell us what Un thinks of himself.

Not all threats are equal. There is quite large difference between firing some artillery shells at a disputed island and nuking a city, would you not agree?

But not smart enough to figure out how influences his people to believe that. Does that state Propaganda tell us about Kim's father. Intelligent people can see why the N Korean people think they are divine.

Killing another's people on a large or small scale, doesn't change up the fact that the threat was acted on and killed people.

Yes he influences his people using propaganda as a means of control. That does not mean that he believes that propaganda let alone that he believes he’s a god.

It’s wildly illogical and stupid to assume that he thinks he’s a god and therefore invincible and use that to justify a war that will result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in South Korea.

So everyone in the world should believe that because the US randomly kills people with drone strikes that it’s likely we will randomly nuke a city, yes?

So you actually think he was brought up to believe his father wasn't divine? Imagine that.....all that propaganda but none of it took any hold on him, Right?

Its wildly illogical for him to think he can Hold the S Korean people as Hostages or Japan. But he is trying.

You know Un was educated abroad right? He wasn’t exactly growing up in some rice farm getting propaganda blared at him 24/7.

The Japanese and South Koreans are no more hostages now or in the future than they have been for the last several decades.

If Un wanted to bombard them with WMD tipped ballistic missiles, his country has had the means for 30 years.

Just my opinion, but I think he wants one or both of them to take action against Kim so we don't have to. NK is their child, not ours.

I see it as a way to keep the pressure on the Chinese primarily, and Russians. He wants them to know that if they don't act, we will. I know they don't want to act, but, if they do, they can at least control what happens. They give up a lot of that control if we act first. I think Trump does not want to go to war over this. He wants China to act.

If you think about the lead-up to recent wars - the Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq - American presidents do a lot of talking about war first. Obama did it during the lead-up to the intended strike on Syria for its use of chemical weapons. We are not used to having a president use Twitter for this, but it is not really different, except in its form. If Trump were to give a speech from the Oval Office or the White House press room, it may feel more traditional, but the effect is essentially the same.

I think we need to accept that Trump is going to be Trump and do things his way, which is different than the Washington norm. So we need to keep our eye on the ball. We need to be thinking about what we want our government to do about NK's nuclear weapons and ICBMs, while not getting distracted by Trump's rather unconventional manner of communicating.

    That's my :twocents:

That's a bit different than a Leader issuing a threat and then acting on it. How many goalposts can you put up to defend lil Kim and N Korea?

What it means is that the US will not accept any agreement that is not on its own terms because Russia and China did come up with a nuclear disarmament on more equitable terms that he probably would accept. This reminds me of all the peace negotiations about Syria between Kerry and Lavrov. Whenever they would come to an agreement, Kerry would call Obama and that ended that. Washington didn't want the war to end unless it was under their own terms.

You are the one thing to claim that firing a few artillery shells means Un will nuke a city.

Would you say twitter is an effective way to do that? More effective than direct communication with the respective leaders? Is trump simply incompetent?
