    He'd have a good chance of actually winning this time, and he clearly intends to run. But he tried to install himself as an unelected autocrat. The fact that he could even get the NOMINATION would mean that the GOP is beyond all possible redemption.

    Only made unbelievable if you based your vote on your hatred for trump and not upon what your candidate could do.

    Of course if you did that, this is your fault and you really should never be allowed to vote again…. Given the level of incompetency it would take to vote like that the last time.

    I think you’d be surprised that there’s a lot of independents out there who would vote Republican, but not for Trump. 2020 is a prime example, Trump received 41% of the independent vote, but Republican congressional candidates received 48%, Republican governor candidates 51% and Republican senate candidates 52%. That should tell you something. A whole lot of ticket splitters who voted for Biden, against Trump, but Republican down ballot.


    Independents still don’t like Trump, don’t like him as an individual, his persona. History has shown folks usually won’t vote for someone they dislike as a person. One should remember the GOP is still the smaller of the two major parties, they must win the independent vote or lose the election. But this is a Republican Party problem or should I say, Trump is.
