    With the first full week of hearings for the House select committee's investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol now complete, nearly 6 in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the incident, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

    Six in 10 Americans also believe the committee is conducting a fair and impartial investigation, according to the poll.

    In the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos' KnowledgePanel, 58% of Americans think Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the riot. That's up slightly from late April, before the hearings began, when an ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 52% of Americans thought the former president should be charged.

    An ABC News/Washington Post poll that asked a similar question days after the attack in January 2021 found that 54% of Americans thought Trump should be charged with the crime of inciting a riot.

    It won't matter if he wins or loses though. The entire campaign will be for the country getting ready for the next ACW. It will start in either 2024, if he wins, or 2028 when he demands to be made President-For-Life

    It’s the current occupier in the WH that wears depends and needs his butt wiped for him.

    Because it is a current event hard news story that there is no logical, rational, reasonable, objective, or fair minded way thst it could be considered anything else. That’s why.     I don't personally believe he should be charged 'for the riot', because that's going to be harder to prove...

    It's still conspiracy to defraud the US with his participation in the Eastman coup plan. This is what Judge Carter was referring to....

    Exactly. Unless more info comes out, I don't see why he should be charged for the riot (except possibly for some kind of negligence, which should be looked into). But as for the plot to overturn the election? Yes. Eastman, at least, needs to go to jail for that. Trump should go too, but I doubt it will happen.

    Because after the worst of covid he had the country moving in the right direction. Now that we’ve seen it moving so far so fast in the wrong direction, people will want him to bring back what we had in Feb 2020 knowing Biden can’t and won’t try to get us there.

    Have you read any of he left leaning posts on this forum? They'll be happy with 50% inflation and nuclear war with Russia to keep Trump out of the White House. Is there even a single Biden voter on this site who has changed their mind?

    Now in the real world, they are not a majority, but they control almost all the means of information.

    A dereliction of duty should have been one of the reasons for impeachment and permanent removal from office... I just don't see criminal charges coming there, but the committee will prove he was completely negligent on the day... because he was....
