"'The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes.'

What happens if Trump has support from the "very different personages" operating behind the scenes?

    Sure they do.

"Taft–Hartley was one of more than 250 union-related bills pending in both houses of Congress in 1947.[4]

"After World War II, 25 percent of the workforce was unionized (around 14.8 million workers had union contracts, 10 million of them being union security agreements), and with the war now over, their promise not to strike so as not to impede the war effort had expired.

"As a response to the rising union movement and Cold War hostilities, the bill could be seen as a response by business to the post–World War II labor upsurge of 1946.

"During the year after V-J Day, more than five million American workers were involved in strikes, which lasted on average four times longer than those during the war.[5]

"The Taft–Hartley Act was seen as a means of demobilizing the labor movement by imposing limits on labor's ability to strike and by prohibiting radicals from their leadership.[6]

"The law was promoted by large business lobbies including the National Association of Manufacturers.[7]"

Don't be silly. That doesn't control wages, but it does put some restrictions on unions.

It controls wages by restricting labor's right to strike while imposing no such limitations on capital.

At least Trump is not a sociopath like our current group in Washington. They are incapable of speaking without lying... and incapable of any humanity towards the millions dying to maintain their hegemony. Nazis through and through.

He doesn't need their support, he has his own money...unlike the other candidates.

Yet they still strike, and union jobs still pay very well.

Let's assume Trump uses his own money to win the presidency, and then does something to antagonize those whom Benjamin Disraeli referred to when he quoted, "(t)he world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes."

Central bankers are one possibility, imho:

"'Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who writes the laws.' Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812), founder of the House of Rothschild."

Can we be sure of that?

"Is Trump a psychopath? Well, he does score well on a 20 item checklist. And are there more around us than we think? Not just serial killers and the violent type, but successful, powerful psychopaths who will do anything to win and affect our lives in profound ways..."

We should be sure of that answer before casting our vote.

And there are far fewer union jobs today than there were in 1947:

"The strike wave of 1945–1946 (also called the great strike wave of 1946)[1] was a series of massive post-war labor strikes from 1945 to 1946 spanning numerous industries and public utilities. In the year after V-J Day, more than five million American workers were involved in strikes, which lasted on average four times longer than those during the war.[2] They were the largest strikes in American labor history."

Big Business bought Big Government after WWII in order to break the unions as part of an overall strategy to roll back FDR's New Deal.

    Mission Accomplished?

The unions accomplished their mission, yes. They helped to establish the middle class.

What are those quotes all about? They don't seem to have anything to do with the fact that presidential choices that affect law need to be ratified.

Yes, there is a difference, but a lot of the most successful politicians have a narcisstic disorder. The more successfull, the higher the percentage. The top politicians who dont fullfill the clinical definition completely have most likely at least a certain tendency.

I read e.g. an article of an psychiatrist who clearly indentified all attributes when it came to Angela Merkel. Her predecessor Gerhard Schröder was so obviously a narccisist, I dont think it needs further evaluation. Surely his predecessor Helmut Kohl wasnt too far away from such a disorder either.

Not everyone of course, but very many of the top politicians have a narcisstic disorder.

Trump will have no more control over US monetary policy than any of his predecessors have, and I suspect the bankers and the Donald already know that much.
