What if etc etc etc. She is in her own home and I guess she knows how to get out. She 'might...............................' Always excuses excuses. From what I saw, those crims seemed to be running away from her and she was on the attack.

You just want your gun, no matter what, don't you. You seem not to give a twopenny stuff that 19 kids were slaughtered using those toys you have. Just absurd. Insanity at large.

In some minds......"all American " equates weapons..........

"need" almost sounds like an addiction........as some folks just cannot exist without weapons now. Brainwashed by fear.........

You nailed it !!!.............INSANITY AT LARGE. ( the "what if " paranoia )

Perhaps it is too late............for some........as weapons are their "security", and they can't live in fear

A fearful nation that"needs" that much weaponry is not free. Pandemic violence does not promote freedom.

The current cycle has become self reinforcing.......and spinning out of control..........and MORE weapons is not stopping it........but contributing to it. This much violence and this much weapons foc............is making the county less stable.

Not only do I want my guns, but I also want the woman whose door gets kicked in by home invaders to have her gun too. I want the church parishioners to be armed and able to defend themselves. I want the willing teachers to be armed to defend their students. I believe in the value of the right of the people to keep and bear arms. If people here don't like that, I'd encourage them to move somewhere like Australia or New Zealand, where they can play the role of defenseless victim when terror comes for them. They probably had other options though, right? They could have fled or something? That's your "logic".

Security bloke does his job. He was no random good guy with a gun.

Sure, 'willing teachers.' Why not arm all the kids as well, ey?

Yep, that Aussie was indeed an bad guy. As soon as it happened, NZ acted to get rid of the guns in the household toybox. Unlike the USA, NZ acted. It DID something!!! The USA does nothing because these mass slaughters are almost just soup de jure, and have become acceptable as part of life in the USA, and that is the status quo you want. I don't.

    That is insanity!

Don't most of the people you mention already have guns.................( those that want them as badly as you do)

It would seem that criminals WANT them as badly as you do.......and have easy access to them. There are more weapons in this country than there are people...........so what is the problem?? Not enough guns out there yet??

How many weapons floating around would make folks feel "secure" or "protected"..........

BTW: Not everyone is gun crazy.........or feels like they "Need"one to feel "safe."

It seems that the current pandemic of shooting is the price one has to pay for the "right' to own a weapon.

In terms of cost / benefit..........and who pays??? the innocent.

Nothing can change in the US as the NRA ( gun lobby) is literally influencing elections to make sure the gun laws don't change........ except to become looser They have the big bucks and money influences everything in this country........including politics and the law. There is no incentive to change the gun laws............and by now the gun cultures is so entrenched that doing so would result in a rebellion.

I don't think so. They talk big, but nah. Shitloads of dreamers in their basements with guns and a zillion rounds of ammo are just wannabe "John Wayne" or Crockett at the Alamo. It is just a bunch, a large bunch of very loud yet to grow up kids in adult bodies seeing who can out Rambo the next wannabe bloke with the size and content of their toybox.

It seems they have convinced themselves that possession of a gun is the meaning and purpose of (their) human life! The very essence of their existence. It is madness, group madness feeding on insane cliches and tropes.

Sure, you will hear about how these guns are so they can fight off Government, but they have absolutely no chance against even a third World army let alone the might of the US military machine.

Silly and so tragic, so much so that kids are slaughtered at school just about every 'week,' and they still insist it happens because of everything except bloody guns.

Valid points !! Not sure about the rebellion thing.........as we have seen what mob mentality can do on Jan 6........ The gun cultures is herd mentality. and mobs energized by anger can be dangerous.

Fear seems to be the basis of it .........be it imagined or real. fantasy has affected reality to create this violent culture.

    Glad you raised that!

So....where were the Rambos with their guns that day? After all, there was their God Almighty Sect Leader Humpty saying that democracy/the USA had been defeated and it had to be taken back!

That incident and the stuff in Oregon (I thought) would be the very occasions all these "Crocketts" crawled out of the cellars with their ammo and guns to face off with the Military, yet.....nah. Nothing. Just a weirdo wearing his sister's makeup and a set of horns, frothing.

It is all false bravado, and I imagine many underpants would be badly soiled if ever these people actually did manage to face off against the US Military in anything other than their dreams and in the virtual World of Forums like this.

Next thing we will read is........"Yeah, but half of the Military will flip and join our ranks."

    NRA crap.

The kid in texas who apparently was constantly bullied because he was poor and his clothes where shoddy, somehow had an arsenal that cost approximately $9,000 that he did NOT have prior to turning 18.

Where did he get it and where did he get the money to afford it?

No they won’t. But thanks for making an excellent case on why civilians should be able to be armed with military style weapons.

I don’t know. I do know that the kid and his family are supposedly poor.

I also find it strange that we have had all of these “mass shootings” in a very short amount of time right at the exact same time that the democrats start a push for gun control going into the midterms and none of the shooters have survived.

I don’t know where he got the money. I know that the arsenal he had would have cost around $9,000 and supposedly his family was poor.

So, the killer acquired the guns legally. Where do you get the $9000.00 figure from.

He used a DDM4, which retails for nearly $2K. Word is he had bought two rifles and a handgun.
    https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/815604015325?suggestion-term=ddm4

He also had a great deal of ammo, which is about .50 cents a round. It adds up fast.
    https://gun.deals/category/ammo

The shooter wore a tactical vest that could be fitted with ballistic protection, which is different than body armor, but without knowing what brand it's not possible to know how much he spent on it.

And magazines, the good ones cost $16 or so, each.

    So, it's an educated guess.

His ammo retailed around 1.00 apiece and he had 1600 rounds supposedly along with three or four firearms and mags for those rounds

Oh, YOU say she doesn't and that's ok? She doesn't have to flee. that's not a requirement for us in a free country! there are 2 right there, we can do this all day but you just won't admit that women can and should be able to defend themselves with a weapon.

sadly, your women can't do this. why does your gov hate the women there so much?

    I disagree.

What law are you going to pass or what program are you going to fund that will "solve" the issue?

Don't run away because somebody disagrees.

So... to take your position to it's end point, we can eliminate 100% of crime if we simply establish law and level of enforcement?
