What a joke of an article that one was .. not a word about the name of the God that Abraham worshiped.

One thing that we know for sure from the Bible - is that the name of Abraham's God was NOT - YHWH.

You need to stop citing these ridiculous musings written by deceitful fundamentalists ..

Big Strike out there mate .. YHWH himself states that Abraham did not know him by that name .. Duh .. did they forget to mention that in your nonsensical website musings ?

OK .. next try - what was the name that the God of Abraham went by ?

There is a debate over whether or not YHWH is a personal name at all -- but this matters not - you are deflecting.

While this may have been the personal name of a God in the Bible - it was not the personal name of Abraham's God.

What part of this fact is not getting through.. what part of " my name was not known to them" is unclear to you ?

You need to stop running from scripture and into the arms of false dogma.

No it doesn't - YHWH claims to be the God of Abraham but this is centuries after the fact .. YHWH also states that while it was Him . Abraham did not know him by that name. So then .. by what name did Abraham know the Most High ?

and quit posting lies from those horrible web sites ..

Yahweh was not the name of the idols that Abraham's family worshiped but Yahweh is the name of the one true God that Abraham came to know. https://cbnasia.org/home/2014/07/what-was-the-name-of-the-god-of-abraham-isaac-and-jacob/

Why are you making things up - no one said YHWH was the name of the Idols that Terah was worshiping.

The question is what was the name of the God that Abraham was worshiping. The Bible says that YHWH was not the name by by which Abraham knew "The Most High" ..

The question you are desperately avoiding - is by what name did Abraham know "The Most High" :)

Not by the name YHWH he didn't .. are you claiming that YHWH in Exodus 6:3 is lying ? Kudo's for actually coming up with scripture that appears to support your claim.

What do we do now mate - we have a huge contradiction on our hands .. Was YHWH lying ? or was the Jahwist source lying (Genesis 7 and 21) ? Pentateuch is a compilation of four originally independent documents: the Jahwist (J), Elohist (E), Deuteronomist (D), and Priestly (P) sources.

Or was it just tradition among the Jahwist's to use "YHWH" in place of "The most High"

How do we resolve this contradiction ? Just choose the scripture we like and go with that - as the moron's on these websites you keep posting from do .. conveniently leaving out the other side of the story .. committing the "Sin of Omission"

Christianity began as a Jewish sect. Many Jews during the life of Jesus were hoping for a Messiah who would liberate them from Roman rule and the Herodian Dynasty. The Messiah would be a descendant of David in the male line. King Herod the Great could not make that claim because he was a Idumenian. "Christ" comes from the Greek word "christos" which means "the anointed one." Messiah comes from the Hebrew word "Mashiach," which also means "the anointed one." Putting olive oil on the head of the new king was part of the Israelite coronation ceremony. So, Jesus Christ really means "Jesus the Anointed One."

When Christianity spread to Greeks, the Greeks lacked a concept of a Messiah. Nevertheless, heroes of Greek legend were often descended from a Greek God. For example, Heracles was descended from Zeus. Consequently, the claim that Jesus was the Son of God would occur to Greek converts to Christianity.

From the Greeks Christianity spread to Romans. The Roman Senate had the ecclesiastical authority to elevate a mortal to the status of a god. For the Romans the deity of Jesus would make sense.

The traditional Jewish assertion of monotheism is the Shema. This appears in Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.”

The Shema also appears in Mark 12:29 "And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord."

Matthew 19:17 reads "And [Jesus] said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Mark 10:18 reads "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."

Luke 18:19 reads "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God."

John 1:1, 1:19 reads "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John also includes other assertions of Jesus' divinity.

From these verses I gather that the final authors of Matthew, Mark, and Luke did not believe in the divinity of Jesus, but the final author of John did.

The Doctrine of the Trinity is an effort to reconcile traditional Jewish monotheism with what would otherwise be a tri theistic religion.

Would it .. ? who cares. What does that have do do with the fact that the link you keep posting contradicts your claim that name of the God that Abraham knew was "YHWH" :)

Abe did not know the name YHWH - to be the name of his God. The name of Abe's God was something else !

as your link states - YHWH was inserted later by an overzealous scribe . its called "interpolation" mate .. and it happens quite often in the Bible ... little edits, additions here and there .. to make the text better conform to the dogma of the day.

Heck the Modern Bible is full of edits - addition - omission - interpolation as compared to the older texts .. never mind back then - scribes collecting what ever scraps they could find to put together Judaism.

Judaism was not the beliefs that the Old Testament followers of God had. Judaism is based off of the interpretations of the scriptures of rabbis who follow the law and reject the Messiah. http://creationliberty.com/articles/einstein.php

Correct - and Abraham knew naught the name YHWH .. However - while the beliefs are different - they are not that different. and the messiah is irrelevant to who Abraham knew as the Most High... El Shaddai .. "El Supreme" and so forth.

by the time the folks who put the OT together from remnant scraps - YHWH had long been forgotten.. never mind is Father .. be it Ea or Enlil .. likely one of the two.

Judah was a tiny tribe who inhabited a rather desolate region .. pretty much a place no one wanted which is why they were somewhat ignored by the dominant powers ... Northern Israel was like 40,000 in the 8th century BC when Assyria took over - Judah was estimated at 2000.

Then finally the Babylonians came knocking and even these were dispersed .. fortunately Persia saved the day but still this was a couple generations later .. couple generations under Babylonian Captivity ..

but in any case .. the parchment they did have came from around the time of Solomon on down roughly 1000-900 BC when Israel was thriving .. by that time .. YHWH was starting to Usurp El as the most high. - in keeping with the trend of the day .. Marduk .. same thing .. usurped El.

What you need understand . is that even though YHWH usurped El .. does not mean El just went away .. he still remained the Most High in heaven to some while YHWH had taken over as Chief of the Earth.. This is how the Northern Tribes viewed YHWH .. but they did not spend much time worshiping him ... he was forgotten during the days of Solomon.. and had been forgotten in general for some time prior to that .. as the Bible tells us.

but this is kind of the perspective of the the Jews who put the OT together .. taking scraps from the past .. and there were different perspectives ..all glommed together.

but Abraham .. this is 1000 years earlier .. YHWH is nowhere to be found at that time .. El is the Most High .. and his position secure .. and everyone believed this .. All the descendends of Shem in the near east .. Babylonians - Assyrians - Canaanintes - Israelites .. they all believed the same thing at that time ..

Abrams deal was that he only wanted to worship the one .. the Most High - and for those of us who study the issue .. hence the title of this thread .. it really doesn't matter if we call Abram's God El or some other name "El Shaddai" "El Supreme" Or Yahweh.

    Galatians 3:8

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. https://www.creationliberty.com/articles/hell.php

What are you talking about Galatian's for .. that is not part of the OT mate .. those folks had a completely different perspective. These folks near got rid of the OT - labeling it fairy tails.. yeah .. early Christians had different believes than we do now for sure .. but way different than the time of Abraham.

You are way off the page ..
