~ Like Trump-O, Musk speaks his mind. He said in one interview Twitter could be as much as 50% fake. :omfg:' The way most social media edits and censors certain points of view and opinions I would not be surprised.
    I wish Musk could buy G00gle ...

I don't disagree with any of that. My specific issue here is the assertion that a number of people have made that Musk has somehow discovered, ascertained or proven that Twitters previous filings and statements were definitively false. Those statements are totally unsupported by the publicly available facts.

As I said, Musk was free to request information about these figures prior to signing up to the deal at a given price or could have negotiated a condition based on those further discovery on the figures. The simple fact is that he didn't, which was either an error on his part or a calculated decision (I honestly don't know which). And again, he could be right in his suspicions but that is distinct from how he has chosen to address them and, significantly, they remain only suspicions and nobody has provided definitive evidence either way (at least in the public domain). Anyone outside Twitter claiming to know the answers to this are either liars or fools.

Well your proof was a journalist opinion, we have Musk's opinion on fake accounts and Twitter dropped the price after asked about them. It's not much of a leap to assume that Musk was correct or closer to the truth than the journalist.

Will you people please read what I'm actually writing? I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm the one saying nothing has been proven. I linked the article I did because it covered the sequence of events, including tweets by Musk and statements from Twitter.

Again, all we have here is a number of people making different assertions about what Musk and Twitter have done yet are providing zero evidence to back up their claims. You've added a new, subtly different assertion now, suggesting Musk hasn't actually proven anything (as others has claimed) but that Twitter has reduced the price. I looked but can find absolutely nothing supporting anything like that. The most recent information I found was about Musk getting further data from Twitter to try to clarify his concerns.

If there has been further progress, I would be honestly interested in hearing about it but random people just making statements on a forum (and contradictory statements at that) don't cut it. It is doubly ironic given that you are also criticising me for not providing a good enough (in your opinion) source when you're providing literally nothing. Why can't anyone seem to be able to explain where they're getting all this detailed information about progress of the buy-out from?

Yet, Elon still is not the owner of Twitter.

Pretty good when your backup plan is $1B.....

    SNIP
The chair of Twitter's board, Bret Taylor, tweeted Friday that the board is “committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement. We are confident we will prevail in the Delaware Court of Chancery.”

Twitter could have pushed for a $1 billion breakup fee Musk agreed to pay under these circumstances. Instead, it looks ready to fight over the deal, which the company's board has approved and CEO Parag Agrawal has insisted he wants to consummate.
    ENDSNIP

I know most of us want this dude to take it sideways, but do you REALLY want to sell your big time company to a guy who doesn't want it, and likely never did in the first place?? Is that really in the best interest of the shareholders??

Force Musk to buy it and then buy it back for pennies on the dollar since Musk never wanted it in the first place.

I said in the beginning the deal would never go through. Musk was just using this as an opportunity to sell Telsa shares because he knows its a meme stock that is overvalued.

~ Musk will likely make the results of his audit public. I would guess he is correct in his estimation that 25% of Twitter accounts are fake.
Hopefully he will reduce his offer by an appropriate percentage and try again. If not it appears he has a good case against Twitter for Constructive Fraud .

He's got no case. He waived his right to due diligence. Then he signed a binding agreement. Musk is SOL and will be forced to either compensate Twitter for a fair amount or pay the original agreement.

He has no case. Waived due diligence. Shouldn't have signed the agreement if he didn't have the information he wanted.

That is what makes all of this so funny. When he announced his bid all these people swallowed his 'free speech warrior' schtick hook, line & sinker. Every time he made some stupid announcement (like pretending to quit the Democratic party) they jumped up & down & clapped like 6 year olds when the clown turns up at the birthday party.

Now, rather than admit they got played they will say and believe literally anything that lets them ignore how comprehensively they were had. Imagined victimhood does strange things to the mind.

He waived due diligence. They have his signature on the contract. SOL for Musk.

Do you have more details on this? How are the details of a contract be made public?

Not at all lol you are incorrect. The left just irrationally hates him and clap like 6 year olds every time they think they “got em” lol.

The binding agreement that Musk signed. He will not get out of this without making Twitter whole.

~ It's very possible Musk will get Twitter for a much lower price. He may even merge it with TruthSocial !!

Maybe Musk could cut costs by sharing day-care services with Joe Biden's grand-son bastard.

Worth a shot. Some of Musks behavior makes me wonder if he has the same hobbies as Hunter
