I think the answer to that would be a giant YES!

Trump said "Islam hates us", and if you've read the Islamic texts you'd know that is a 100% true statement.

All Muslims do indeed hate us - well, let me clarify: all Muslims who would not answer "yes" to this question would hate us: "Did Allah get it wrong where in the Qur'an he teaches hatred of (even ethical) non-Muslims?"

But Mohammad said to "kill those who leave their [Islamic] religion", so Muslims risk DEATH (using different fonts is fun - great minds think alike) if they become apostates.

Can we agree that Trump would have been CORRECT if he'd have specifically said, instead, "The Islamic texts teach hatred for us, and Muslims lack the moral courage to alter said texts", Distraff?

By the way, I honestly do love Muslims/Christians, but I (obviously!) question Islam/Bible itself, as well as most all other religious texts.

There is much truth in these posts. I have not read the Koran. I have read three translations of the bible. One can memorize select passages but that ignores the sweep and majesty of the work as a whole story of Israel, Rome, Egypt, and the region. A much larger message is the historical journey to a simple truth, Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

As I confessed, I have not read the Koran, but I suspect the journey is similar.

Had Muslims not been influenced by totalitarian-loving Mohammad (Mohammad didn't understand/teach democracy) they would likely have WELCOMED democracy, and not fought it, and had it not been for the Islamic atrocity of Sunni hatred for Shia and Shia hatred for Sunni, that war would have been a cake-walk! I blame Mohammad/Islam/Allah's teachings. They are stuck in the 7th century, and not our modern century.

With a lot of killing/enslaving/raping infidels along the journey. Certainly not a good role model in the 21st century.

Yes, apparently God/Jesus "would have other do unto" them brutal torture in hell if they simply dared to pick one of the other 1000+ gods out there! Clearly God/Jesus does NOT follow that rule - that hypocrite!

Let me summarize it for you, then: Q8:39 says to fight/kill infidels until the whole world worships Allah, and we are all Muslims.

    Naw, I'm an atheist. :)
But I can imagine what I would feel if someone attack my country without good cause.
As a matter of fact I still harbor some of those views against Japan and I wasn't born when it happened.

If someone believes their religious text is God's word then why do you think they will alter it? The bible is full of nasty verses yet we don't see Jews and Christians altering it. As societies advance they begin to reinterpret their religious books to reflect their new values. This is already beginning to start with moderate Muslims either ignoring parts of the Koran or explaining it away and reinterpreting.

When people have faith in a religion they would rather rationalize the bad parts (well gay relationships are wrong... so the bible is right), embrace them (gays are horrible people!), reinterpret them (those verses weren't talking about gays), or ignore them (the bible bans gays? Never heard that from my pastor.). Religious people don't just abandon their religion when they see some verses that don't make logical sense. This isn't unique to Muslims.

Right wing extremists are not christians. They do not practice the golden rule. It is a means test for who and who is not a christian.

Where are all of these christian armies you conjured up? What church?

Most so-called Muslims living in western countries are secular and have little idea of what is in the Qur'an. They are not prepared to defend something they don't even know exists.

I lived in the same dormitory room with Arabs when I was a low-paid worker in Germany; I went to the university with Muslims in France; and I lived in a predominately Arab neighborhood in France. Most Muslims are no more knowledgeable the more outrageous parts of the Qur'an than most secular so-called Christians are of the atrocities of the Old Testament of the Christian Bible.

"And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them." (II Kings 2:23-24 KJV)

Why are so many people prepared to condemn all Muslims, even moderate ones, for the atrocities in the Qur'an but are not prepared to condemn Christians for the atrocities in the Bible? Could the answer be racism?

I guess for the same reason that most native-born Americans call themselves Christians even if they haven't gone to church in decades and have no idea what's in the Bible.

So they are mistaken for calling themselves christians and you are mistaken for calling the others muslims.

Neither will help tame Islam very much. Trump's is more realistic and practical. Obama's is standard apologetic for America being greater than it deserves.

I prefer an OP who actually knows what context is and doesn’t just pluck some random blog pic off the internet as proof. Case and point:

Obama was wrong. The prophet of islam deserves slander just as all other religious prophets who promoted atrocities deserve slander.

Obama is African-American and Trump is White?

    How earth shattering.
