You are missing a point and a very important one. Segregation and telling black people that they are inferior was not that long ago in our history.Do you think that because one day it becomes illegal to segregate that suddenly all those internal messages for generations about the inferiority of black people suddenly disappears? The message is internalized in white people it’s that black people are inferior and in black people that they are inferior. It will take generations before those internalized messages disappear.

The point is not to blame someone today for what was done in the past. However, the point is that what has happened in the past with regards to slavery and its aftermath has had an effect on the economic condition that some find themselves in today, AND the way that people think today. You just can't expect to all of a sudden to erase the psychological, sociological, and economic effects of what was the lawful abuse of a whole race of human beings during slavery and the system of legal apartheid that existed in the US in the aftermath of slavery. To think that it can be done is absurd. That's why the position that some have put forward here that slavery has been over for over one hundred years and therefore racism is not a substantial problem for blacks is absurd.

 

Current segregation well outside of like females in a locker room and males in another there isn't any.

I do believe all such laws were deemed illegal in the 1960s.

I really do not have much respect for anyone who willingly disrespects their own race to the point where they actually say statements somewhat like:, "I am so proud that my grandson wishes he were some other race other than the one he actually is".

So to be consistent with that, yes, I find it rather absurd that a black person would be so ashamed of his race that he would attempt to justify slavery as a blessing from God that allowed him to get to America. Like there was not other way he would have been born in America except for having some distant relative slave who was lucky enough to have survived the voyage on the slave ship, instead being thrown out for sharks to eat.
